Please tell me where you got lost because nothing in the video should be confusing.

On there it may have been a basic needle but now I use stretch fabric needles in the smaller sizes.

I use stretch needles which I buy in my local haberdashery and I've even brought them in my local Barbados charity shop uk I was surprised to find a section in there that does a stand with threads machine needles and other sewing accessories as I love a good rummage in there and I've even found brand new material in there that's been donated now the main lady who runs the shop calls me if they've had a donation of material so I can have first pick and I've even had brand new curtains from there

So... you're asking how to make a completely different skirt?

Do the shorts as the lady explained and trace an existing skirt of the design you require but leaving bottom side seam splits although a straight skirt in non stretch might not sit as well as the circle skirt I've done similar in the past i.e straight skirt but was not as happy with the results a lot of sewing is trial and error I've even in the past brought cheap stretchy material or duvet cover s even jersey bedding to do a trial make and these end up as first a template to make a paper pattern I normally make the paper pattern from a roll of wallpaper lining paper or brown paper usually used for wrapping parcels and store all my patterns in the see through file covers then store in a large file noting down measurements material I used these trial garments end up as either night wear or clothes for around the home during the day in fact the pj short/skort I'm wearing plus a t shirt I made was from a jersey bedding set that was below half price as there was a few stains on the set I washed it all the stains .came out the pillow cases I use on my bed as I use four pillows and the fitted sheet acts as undersheet on my bed and the set was reduced from £24:99 down to £5:99 at night and the duvet was a double size there's enough to make a matching kimono dressing gown and a short cardi to go with the short/skirt t shirt set it is a peachy colour background with blue and yellow flowers on it I live in the UK and we have B&m and Wilko and even some of the supermarket s have cheaper bedding before you commit to more serious sometimes expensive materials in fact I've just nipped to my corner shop in this out fit I'll be wearing in bed later and been complemented on it and I did not say it was my PJs but I had made it from a jersey bedding set
