Hi John, quick question. Does Air Canada include free meal service on this flight - economy class? I hope they would considering that the flight time is 10 hours and meals are included for their trans Atlantic flights. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jamie. AC does not treat this long flight like going to Europe. You have to buy food in economy and Premium Economy gives you a meal like business class. Even in Business Class you do not get an amenity kit like going to Europe or Asia. Kind of ridiculous to not feed people in economy on this route considering the length and cost, like at least $3,000 for 2 tickets.

Forgot to mention that Hawaiian Airlines non stop from Boston feeds everyone. I have done that before and not a bad deal, pricing is about the same.

As Dad worked for Air Canada for 34 yrs (retired like 25 yrs ago and still kicking ass every day) I was also fortunate enough to have been on so many flights as well John, maybe not 1000 (yet) but still lots of time to go. My list of AC aircraft travelled pretty well parallels yours minus the 777 but to also include the Embrarer, A321, and the Dash 8. Other non AC jets as well including a Pan Am 707 and an American Airlines DC10. Favourite of all of them John was a DC8 Super 61 Combi from YYZ over to Dublin back in the day. Stay safe. Hi Michael. So nice to hear about your Dad and your flights. I have not been on the AC Embrarer jets as of yet or the new Airbus 220. You are right about the DC-8, I was a youngster on that one but still thought it was awesome. Huge junk of my flights were work related and never got to enjoy many of the destinations. Trying now to fix that haha. Wish you and your family all the best.

the flight back to Toronto was on time, but the flight leaving Toronto to Honolulu was delayed about 1.5 hours.

I'm on the same page as you as I also filmed HNL Boeing 787-9 Air Canada departure as well from seat 7A. The service on my flight was great and I too love departures from HNL not only through videos like yours, but also experiencing the departure off Reef Runway 8R as well. It was my first time in Hawaii and was by far the best trip ever. I will definitely go back. Also my night takeoff filming wasn't that great either because my window was a bit foggy due to a draft at the airport plus I too isn't an expert videographer haha. The video of my departure is on my KZbin page. Respect boss 👍🏿

That is awesome Rio! Crazy time to fly back to Toronto isn't it? Used to leave in the afternoon and get into Toronto at 6 or 7AM but hey, it is a 787-9 and I love flying on it anytime. Every year I am in Honolulu I take some time to go down the end of Lagoon road near the airport and watch them take off from 8R. Off to check your video. Thanks for your comment.

@@johndemerse9172 I know right haha the departure time is crazy, but personally I prefer this departure than the previous afternoon departure pre pandemic mainly because you're almost ready to sleep and you'll be able to get some rest which I did for 5hrs out of the 8hrs of the flight. The 787-9 Dreamliner is my 2nd favorite aircraft after the Triple 7 300ER. Honolulu is an amazing city and really busy as well with friendly people.👍🏿

Actually it is back. AC 589 YYZ to HNL is flying again. I will be on it January 21st. As I type this AC 589 is on route to HNL from YYZ.

I wonder if the big cargo door weakens the fuselage. The front end snapped off right where the cargo door is. Whereas other planes without such a modification (such as Sully's plane that came down in the Hudson) didn't break apart at all. Of course I conceed there may be other factors in play, the Transair plane might have come down a lot harder, for example. But it was just a thought when I noticed that cargo door and its placement, in this video.

Yes, 810 crashed, this one was 809. They had 5 of these 737-200 freighters at Transair.

Max 8 are allowed to be chartered flown or tested without passengers on it. Usually flown to be repositioned, have seen many of the Sun Wing max 8 taking off to go to YMX for storage.

Hello again my friend. Yes it did come from St. Maarten. I remember my two daughters and I were among only a few that stayed on the flight over to St. Kitts. I think Skyservice went out of business.
