So use the leash attachment on the dogs back to have more control if they are anxious and/or pull? And they can “graduate” to the front clip as they build their confidence and learn not to pull?
@Sleepypod16 күн бұрын
Hi, and thanks for stopping by! The front D-ring is included on the harness to help dogs who currently use harnesses with a front D-ring design slowly transition to using the martingale design with the D-ring on the back of the dog.

I dont think women had a crash test dummy custom built for them until 2022?
@Sleepypod3 ай бұрын
You are correct! Amazing it took so long for this to happen. Sleepypod's first crash test dummy dog made its debut in 2012. There's a lot of great information about the female crash test dummy that debuted in 2022 on the internet, but if you want more information about Sleepypod's crash test pets, go to our site at sleepypod.com/press

wtf? the metal harness in his weist? what security give us if you dont saw all the dog movement. that harnees reduce impact or what its for??
@Sleepypod4 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for your interest in Sleepypod research and testing! The crash test of Clickit Sport at the ECE R44 child safety seat standard was administered at a U.S. Department of Transportation and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration-sponsored crash test facility. The rope around his belly would prevent the crash test dog from flying off of the bench should the restraint fail. You'll see that the crash test dog is already being pulled back before there is any tension on the rope. Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.

Watched the video but no explanation about buckle shield which is new to me. I have another dog who uses Sleepypod but a buckle guard did not come with it then. Can you explain exactly how to install it. Also the S clip was not with my other dog’s as well. Using the S clip sets the length that you want to maintain for the seatbelt… am I understanding that correctly, and unit is an option, not a requirement, correct… Thank you for clarity about these concerns.
@Sleepypod5 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out about this. The S-Clip is not necessary for safety. It's helpful when determining the ideal seatbelt length for your pup and "bookmarking" it for faster in/out of the car. The instructional videos for these accessories are in separate videos here on our KZbin channel. The direct link to the S-Clip video is kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHfXiKSegJhmprs ; the direct link to the Buckle Shield video is kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYGmg5SDn9yYi5o

Why does this video not show passing the mesh tail of the neck strap through the loop on the opposite side, or passing the chest buckle through its retaining loop? In my experience those are the two hardest steps.

Takes time. Like leash training a puppy. You have to let them wear it inside for a half hour, then take it off. Then leave it on an hour. Then try to walk them inside from one spot to another. Make a game out of it. Give them catnip and treats. Then short distance, a short time outside. Baby steps. Then have a set routine that ends with getting back to home base if anything potentially scary or disorienting happens. 15 minutes at a time. Then a half hour. Treats/food back at home base. Cats will work as a team in unison with you. Have a short quiet Code Sound to check/affirm them every so often. Then a different short whistle/sound that is louder that means to come back/stay close. This is for if it may happen that there are disruptive people or loose dogs. If something got out of hand, the cat's instinct would be to run to a safe vantage point, hide, and watch & listen for a while. The 3rd whistle is the loudest and distinctive, and you should also call the cat's name. Can say - Fluff, come out! I'm Here! Come around! And wait awhile... They will come. Especially close to dusk... Cats map out their territory. It's only within a mile because they are small. Unless they are not spayed/neutered... then they may continue elsewhere. Once they find other cats, then they will stay and hang out nearby. Their natural prey is mice (or anything about that size). They will attempt to eat a bird carcass left by Hawks. Hawks will go after a small dog, cat, rabbit, squirrel, chicken, etc. etc. Dogs Roam. Their territory can be 5 to 10 miles! *Huskies much farther. They are seeking to explore and interact, by Traveling as a group. 3 to 5 dogs of any size brings out a pack mentality to Chase. (Prey drive) So a Harness with a plan in place, for you and your cat makes you both safe and well-prepared!

Good travel harness! ❤ An H - harness has to be snug like a training bra, but they hold their breath like horses do when first cinching a saddle. This is wider so they won't feel it dig in. Eventually they forget they are wearing it. ❤ Figure 8 is useless

I think I'm keeping my puppy in a crate until she is big enough for a harness. This harness is worth considering for sure but not right now.
@karro26486 ай бұрын
Stick with the crate forever. These harness are stupid and not safe at all. Most are absolute garbage and break on impact or they stretch so far the dog goes flying. Always always always use a good crash tested crate like "variocage" when traveling with your dog.

Thank you for making this product. I was recently in a car accident where my seatbelt & airbags saved me from massive injury. I usually drive with my dog in the back seat, but thankfully didn't have him at the time. I'm so scared to drive with him now! I've been searching and couldn't find anything to keep him safe the way my car's safety systems protected me 🥺 But now I found your harness! It looks like my order will arrive just in time for my car repairs to be finished 🥲❤️
