Noam, your training and most notable contributions are in linguistics. Linguistics! Why are you choosing three intellectuals known for politics? Politics is a pseudo-science of mental masturbation.

Of course he sees them as "true" intellectuals. He carries a bias towards them because they are all along the same ideological lines. Chomsky's no fool, but he's got his slant like everyone else. Sometimes I believe he raises good points but other times he crosses into a territory that's just plain pessimistic and self serving.

so nice to see three friends ( Naom , Edward and Eqbal) working towards the same goal and learning from each other during the process.

do you have the entire interview? I was lucky enough to study with Eqbal Ahmad, one of the three Chomsky mentioned.

I'd add Jeremy Scahill to this list, although I doubt Chomsky knew about him at the time this video was taken. Understandable, since he didn't publish anything until 2006, I believe. Also, from what I hear, Naomi Klein is quite the new voice of the people.

Allegations of corruption (kickbacks) should always be accompanied by specific details. However, the first speaker made a very sharp comment regarding "institutional weaknesses" that result in one sided deals (thus harming the interests of the public).

there is an editing error in this vid, after 1:52 it repeats itself, however, it's worth hearing Jonathon Miller again. And a wonderful meeting with an old lady close to death. Great clip.

How many of these fake degree holders are in occupations that require expertise in life and death issues? This is really scary and an affront to the idea of an education at any level. As usual there are people who will call for an NRO like deal but these folks should be banned from contesting any kind of election.

This solves the criteria of the government that all ministers shud be graduates. This also will give the nation confidence that ministers can be honest too (by admitting their mistakes in this case).
@JK4222114 жыл бұрын
. All such ministers shud be pardoned. However there needs to be a condition for granting this pardon and that is, these ministers shud then sign up to further studies, i .e. pursue BA degrees and complete them within the normal time it takes to complete BA. Lastly, for future politicians, obviously everyone applying for party tickets and election contest shud be a graduate.
@JK4222114 жыл бұрын
solution to fake degrees - govt shud announce they will check on all ministers degrees in two weeks. anyone caught will be subject to punishment (political ban etc). However within these two weeks, govt shud encourage all ministers who hold fake degrees to come forward and admit their wrongdoings

there's no point talking fake degrees when others with high degrees are equal or bigger thieves. for example it was during Benazir Bhutto's first stint that loot culture and hooliganism was legalized. She had original degrees didnt she. PPP is akin with loot while Nawaz Sharif, the head liar and hypocrite, builds up on low keel but heavy loot. In short, Pakistani society needs purging by whatever means, whatever that means....
