Thank you for your comment. I like air-cooled twin-cylinder and single-cylinder bikes, so I owned about nine bikes until I was in my 50s, but now I'm almost 70 and my income has decreased, so I only have six bikes registered for road use (Norton650SS, Harris T140, Harley Davidson WLC, BMW R27, Moto Guzzi California 2 and Le Mans 3) and a Honda TLR200.

I never cared for the look of that BMW RS and the handle bar position just looked off too me... As regards the Guzzi... I much prefer the original California from the seventies. In fact I would say that is the best period ever for Moto Guzzi styling... I particularly like the 1000 convert,,or the T5/T3(can,t remember which) and of course the 850 Le mans (mk 1 only) regards

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I only have a work email address, not a personal one. I think I can help you with information about the restoration of Le Mans 3 to the extent that I know it. The cherry blossom season in Japan is also popular with foreign tourists, and the period from late March to early April in Tokyo is recommended. Also, it seems that Moto Guzzi gatherings are held in the suburbs of Tokyo in May, so please check the Internet. www.motoguzzi.com/jp_JA/moto-guzzi-world/events/eagle-day-2024/ However, in Japan, late April to early May is called Golden Week, and many people travel domestically, so transportation and accommodation will be crowded. June is the rainy season, and it will be humid and muggy, so it may be a bit difficult, especially if you are coming from the United States or Europe. Nevertheless, there are many places to enjoy sightseeing, not only in Tokyo but also in Kyoto and Osaka, so I hope you will enjoy your trip to Japan. By the way, the Moto Guzzi specialty store in Tokyo that I am indebted to is called Moto Guzzi Riparale. Please search on the Internet. They ride Moto Guzzi with Tonti frames.

Thank you for your inquiry. The handlebars on my Le Mans 3 are the Adjustable clip-on handlebar set "Verlicchi Touring" 35mm forks. This is the "touring" height bar, with about a 4 inch rise possible. These handlebars are from Guzzi Laden in Germany. They are listed on the websites of shops such as MG CYCLE. With handlebars of this height, you can use the original wiring to the front brake switch as is, but with handlebars that are higher than that, there may be interference with the meter panel or the wiring may need to be changed. For a while after I got this Le Mans 3, I rode it with the original crop-on handlebars, but now that I'm in my late 60s, my hips start to sag when I ride long distances in a forward-leaning position. So I changed it to this handlebar, and since it now makes it easier to ride on long-distance touring and unpaved roads such as gravel roads, I think I'll be able to keep riding my Le Mans 3 even after I'm over 70.

Thank you for your comment. As you know, the original side stand was attached to the front right side of the frame. However, I am short at 170cm and it was difficult for me to reach it with my feet, so I replaced it with a side stand that can be attached just below the footstep. It is very helpful because I can quickly put out the side stand when I stop the LM3. This was installed by a Moto Guzzi specialty shop using a side stand from a Le Mans 1000. In Japan, there are also riders who make their own by reusing the side stand attached to a Honda Postman Cub, and there are also shops that sell similar products.

Thank you for your concern. After that, the damaged parts were replaced with new ones, and the Le Mans 3 was running fine. Where I live (southwest Hokkaido), the temperature drops to about -20°C in the middle of winter and the snow piles up to nearly 3m, so the motorcycles go into hibernation in the garage. First, I remove the batteries from the motorcycles and store them indoors after charging them. Then I drain the gasoline from the carburetor and fill up the gas tank, and the motorcycle is ready for hibernation. The Le Mans 3 also went into hibernation the other day.

I have been trying to place where your videos are taken. At first, seeing a British bike, and riding on the left, I assumed it was in UK, but we do not have mountains like that. So, I considered New Zealand. But this video, recently released, places the videos in the northern hemisphere where it is autumn. I noticed there were vineyards, so considered Malta and Cyprus as possibilities, but there are snowpoles on roads that do not appear to be at alltitude. I noticed the registration plates were unusual, so thought further afield, and wonder if it is Hokkaido.

Thank you for your comment. I also used to ride the R100GS and R100RS. Both were great motorcycles for traveling. However, I didn't know any riders who rode Moto Guzzis, so I was interested in the Moto Guzzi, which has the same shaft drive and OHV twins as BMW, but I never had the opportunity to actually ride it. I bought a V7 Classic, which was around the time when the carburetor was replaced by fuel injection, and rode a Moto Guzzi for the first time. It was a very easy motorcycle to ride, but it was too smooth and I didn't feel the strong torque that I expected from Moto Guzzi. Therefore, I got rid of the V7 Classic after riding it for about two years. After that, I got a not-so-popular 1986 California II, and I fell in love with the charm of the Moto Guzzi, which can be enjoyed from low to high speeds with its heartbeat and thick torque. After that, I also got a lighter and more powerful Le Mans 3, and enjoyed riding both Moto Guzzis. Like air-cooled BMWs, there is a good supply of parts for old Moto Guzzis, so I think I'll still be riding them even after I'm over 70. However, I still have a longing for a loop-frame Guzzi. Thank you for your comment. The snow melts and the roads become visible at the end of April, and the temperature drops below freezing in early November, so the main motorcycle season is from May to October.

Thank you for your comment. WLC engine and TM have a simple structure, so maintenance is easy. The weight is light and the seat is low, so I think it will be easy for me to ride the motorcycle even when I get older.
