Your terraces remind me of a vegetable and herb garden I used to have just a couple of years ago before I moved into the city. The weeds came by themselves, including 'the weed' - yes, cannabis - lots of it, and so many others. And yes, you guessed it, it was in India. Counted nearly 28 species of birds every single day. I put out only the water. The food was all there - fruit, seeds or bugs. Thank you for this lovely video. One tiny, little bird used to come and eat up my bird's eye chilli plant, leaves and all. It was too small and fast for me to see. It might have been the silver eye.

The fruits of true Sweet Cicily, when green, are DELICIOUS. Very nice anise flavour. Great garden nibble. I guess no one told my Sweet Cicily plant that it was difficult to transplant. A friend dug it up from her garden while in flower, gave to me. It thrived in my yard for years, and has moved with me twice since then. It’s now over 25 years old, survives harsh Ottawa River Valley winters, grows to about 4 or 5 ft. tall and is seeding babies all over. A real beauty that loves dappled light. Kinda the Queen of my garden!

How do you tell the difference between Ligusticum? Online there are difference leaves on the Ligusticum sinense. Is it the same as Chinese privet?

Thank you. I had some in a stew yesterday for the first time and I wanted to know more about it. It was purchased fresh and it tasted very good in the stew. Although they were mucilaginous while shaving the skin off with a peeler, it was not at all slimy in the stew. Just don't over cook them. I also read that among starchy vegetables, it has an incredibly low glycemic index of only 17.43.

Not sure that these berries do not spread by root. I have tiny sprouts growing about 20cm from the main plants. The color is also a bit different: more light green. All the ones I have seen here in France are the same color.

Had a shot of absenth in 2001 while in Germany. Definitly felt different while drinking that night. Nothing crazy, only had one shot, but definitely felt different. Didn't know anything about it. Seems like we put sugar in, lit it on fire for a few seconds, blew it out and then shot it back. I think I remember a spoon with sugar. I don't know. Can't remember exact details. I think it had something to do with the toxins. Not sure if it did anything. They got it from Czech. I'm currently growing Artemisia absinthium for its medicinal benefits.
