It is now wild in my yard. Some have cross pollinated between the green and the purple that is more variegated. Every time I am in the garden I inadvertently brush against it and the fragrance makes me pause for a moment.

One of the two best pollinator attractors for growing vegetables along with Lavender. Bees see the purple colour as a a rich black colour and they can spot it from the air from a long distance. So if you want more pollinators in your garden plant this. The leaves are Rubbish for a traditional Basil type pesto but the leaves dried and chopped up are extremely aromatic and marvellous to add to Tomato type dishes etc.

Vera , I think you meant ADAPATAGEN , not adaptation . How often do you use it .... do you make a tea out of it ? I've known about Tulsi for years from the Indian Grocers but only just bought some recently and only have taken it several times in powder form . No doubt fresher is better and I'm sure you're probably drinking the tea ?

I was going to say that this one is Rama tulsi while krishna tulsi is more potent right when you mentioned it. And yes it's tricky to grow Krishna tulsi even in India too. And tulsi along with amla and raw honey is like a super food. Tulsi Giloy, Alovera and Amla are a must have plant.

Hi, this is very interesting, this ocimum is not the one used in India and in Ashrams and is not considered as "adaptogen"...the one on the video doesn't have much eugenol in it, that is why it smells like strawberry and has pink flowers..Tulsi doesn't smell like strawberry at all. Rama and Krishna are wild under tropics. We have green Tulsi, the Rama, and the red Tulsi the more common in Ashrams and temples..The one here is a cultivar between ocimum americanum and ocimum kilimandscharicum...i know it's confusing. Vana is not considered as a Tulsi in India with more than 75% of eugenol. If you would like pictures we have them all here in Reunion Island. Kindly.

Beautiful!! You have such a wizard vibe to this video. I have a question about Holy Basil. My tea says it has Rama, Vana and Krishna leaf. Is it a common side effect for the tea to cause hallucogenic experiences? I made a cup as suggested: 200* steeped 10 minutes. Although it may have been up to 20 minutes that I left it (I got distracted). Since it was steeped longer, I only drank 1/3 of it (I’m petite). About an hour later my body was heavy calm, heart rate normal, mind anxious that my body was calm, and then I witnessed almost in a ghost fashion the silhouette of a person sitting on my bed. Before bed I felt my nerves soothing on my back and had some sinus improvement. I had a nightmare this morning I was not waking up from. Suddenly I felt a tickle on my belly and I shot awake, and then I saw the Silhouette of a woman walking away from me on my left side. Nothing I read on holy basil speaks to my experience and Im uncertain if I should continue this tea. Maybe I’ll steep it for half the time the box suggests (5 minutes) what are your thoughts, pray tell?
@tylerk.7947
@tylerk.7947 3 жыл бұрын
No that’s not a common side effect! And the steeping time shouldn’t affect that. Perhaps tulsi caused that or perhaps it didn’t. Try a smaller dose. If it doesn’t feel right for you then trust your instinct.
