Helios most beautiful Russian propaganda !
@NatLifeSounds18 күн бұрын
@marianl8718 1: Helios made in USSR, which isn't Russia if you didn't knew. 2: From more than 10 lenses my favourite is Helios just because it's most cinematic and real! Which means a lot. 3: Helios lenses were used in the latest top movies in Hollywood, again if you didn't know that. And finally I know a lot of pro film makers who are using it, but I wish you not use it, because it's Russian propaganda, the world will be clearer if such persons will not touch the things where humans must have some talents, not only propaganda in their head 😉
@marianl871818 күн бұрын
It is not difficult to pay a film director some money to, for commercial purposes, film a few minutes with a mediocre lens made in a communist country. Only mediocre lenses need such an advertisement, the good ones are self-imposed. And because the Helios has nothing special, a subjective and as such unverifiable quality was invented: the bokeh that this lens is claimed to produce. No, there are too many videos that unfairly praise this lens. Behind it is nothing but the same Russian propaganda, propaganda that Russia desperately needs these days.

The Xeen give the creamier bokeh, but I like the overall rendering of the Canon more, I actually prefer the Helios over the rest, but, I know this is a matter of taste and not for every project too.

Great comparison! Thanks for that. I like the little softer look of the Zeiss, also the much nicer and softer lens flaires it produces.

I am so confused. These are two lenses with very distinct character, but in this video they both don't look vintage at all. What camera did you shoot these on and what was your exposure level like? Also your colour grade workflow? All the character is gone.

The xeen lens is so clean, the bokeh lacks texture and looks so flat and boring for me. On the other hand Helios has an impressionist feel to it, the swirly bokeh on the left and right edges looks like brush strokes and gives a painting like effect to the image. And being an owner of canon fd lenses i can tell that the nikon and canon looks quite similer and the best choice for any professional works if you can rehouse it .

The Helios 44-2 has the busiest bokeh I really wished it could render a creamier background. Regardless, it's the one I would pick out of the four.

Is it the one they tryed after the even more contoversial 35-105 mm 3.5 ? It could feat the kind of B movie from Quentin Dupieux, like Rubber or Wrong Cops... with pretty humoristic backgrounds lile here @ 4:32. Very cartonnish.
