Early 1970's I was a young teen, we went to see the movie and walked out after 35/40 minutes, we were expecting something different, it was beautifully filmed but out young, eager, impatient minds didn't enjoy it.

_why did Dave love this song so much?_ seriously, Dave had great taste in music on the air, but why THIS song? when did it come out? late '90s? what was it about this song for him? it's so odd. this song closed out the entire Dave Letterman era. and if you don't know how big a deal that is, you weren't there.

Some wonderful insights. Thanks for doing the interviews and thanks for the upload. What I think we need is a much more comprehensive documentary, probably a documentary series, that discusses how songs were written, anecdotes, etc.

@@nintendonut100 Er, which one was that? Most albums were seen as post-grunge/sub-hardcore with a couple of good singles on each, and that was old hat by the late 90s. More serious pre-millenium futurism such as Radiohead & The Prodigy and rap/hip hop were the order of the day, and Marilyn Manson and nu-metal were in the ascendant for the kidz. I don't think FF ever had a true classic, altho TC&TS was probably their peak. They quickly became a festival band with the odd classic single.

0:48 Hello I've waited here for you Everlong Tonight, I throw myself into And out of the red Out of her head, she sang Come down and waste away with me Down with me Slow, how you wanted it to be I'm over my head Out of her head, she sang And I wonder When I sing along with you If everything could ever be this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when She sang Breathe out So I can breathe you in Hold you in And now I know you've always been Out of your head Out of my head, I sang And I wonder When I sing along with you If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when She sang And I wonder If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when

what a great live performance of this song. big fan of these dudes. massive high energy. been playing this song for years as a cover and thought I'd try sing and play it. Nup, i give up, typical drummer able to hold down unusual timing and sing at the same time. I'll stick to guitar.
