Thanks for doing this, I know it must have been a ridiculous undertaking. I just came back to the game when it launched on Xbox after quitting during 2.0 so I missed a LOT of stuff and wanted a refresher but this was insane. I watched part 1 and 2 even though I'd just done inazuma it was great getting the events I missed filled in. I hope you do a part 3 but I don't envy the amount of work it would take you based on what I've experienced in sumeru so far.

As an AR 59 and early game player, I onlyJUST found this video and im listening to it as i work. You put so much effort into this im immediately subscribing. I randomly smile to mysel when you insert random comedic side notes "they were carrying tears around ?!?". Love that because it shows how invested you are in the game, and while a recap video is serious you also have fun with it lol, saying what a lot of us probably were thinking.

I watched the first 5 minutes and will finish the video and do 100% agree with technical flaws of the directing and writing and annoyances with the pacing but want to bring forward a major difference in genshin impacts and wuthering waves story. In genshin you land in the fantasy world by accident and wouldnt actually need to take part in major world events if it werent for paimon wanting to help everyone/ your good will / at most you needing the help of side characters. In wuthering waves rover is *sent* to the world . The story is about you learning how exactly you may help the best and most. There is no ulterior goal.

WW plot be like "hey, traveler, hello, you are so special, let's go help us defeat the uninteresting impersonal evil, oh, traveler, you are so special, I'm a sweet girl and I love you!" It's a shame that a game with such great potential has a third-rate isekai plot.

It's been almost 4 years, so I don't know if it hadn't been clarified back then, but at least now it has been confirmed that Aether is canonically the main character and Lumine was the one who arrived at Teyvat first.

Playing 1.4 version of wuwa reading all the story just to give it enough chance and see the story get better but still the same isekai "everyone loves rover" theme going on. I have started to feel less and less motivated to even go through the next patch and very close to uninstalling. Wuwa can't even compete with kuro's PGR let alone any other gacha story based game. Zzz was lately released and with all the annoying fanservice in designs it did an amazing job in storytelling and creating bonds w characters. Whereas in wuwa i lack any empathy or attachment to any character. All of them seem so shallow especially the women. Everyone just glazing rover "the true hero and god of this world." To me the breaking point was when jue called rover master and how shorekeeper's ENTIRE PERSONALITY was i love you rover you are amazing! (Same goes to camellya i genuinely feel sexually harrased by her all the time) If 2.0 is still the same crap it is rn i will stop playing all together. Wuwa is genuinely kuro's worst ever project and failure.

This video is 3 months old and it's not like the story was that great 3 months ago anyway. Also the story is pretty bland no offense so far with the characters and cutscene carrying it 8/10, Genshin is generic but it's effective even if the story has a pacing problem, Yapping problem and Traveler problem (Bro is constantly taking L's). Rover is way cooler than the traveler but the story so far has practically been about glazing Rover for being a God (I would glaze him too tbh) with every female character seems to try and get a piece of him and barely interact with anyone other than Rover. Also I'd honestly take trying to find your siblings as a primary goal than recovering your memory tbh, pretty mid goal but then again the game could improve so my opinion could change overtime. The character design honestly is getting repetitive overtime (excluding Furina Love her design) but it's Iconic, memorable and easily recognizable "Oh it's that Lightning chick from that chinese game". Wuwa char design is amazing, everyone looks good and felt more mature but it's not as memorable as Genshin Objectively (example being Yuan wu and Aalto, could be cherry picking and same can be said for Genshin but then again they are barely memorable or really have any role as of current). Calling "X community is toxic." doesn't inherently make your community better, The hate for the Genshin community is understandable but to generalized the entire community around the bad side of it is disingenuous and projecting when the same can be said about some part of your community picking fights with other community for not being a yesman and praising your game.

What ive found with most of these gacha style games, the story is always all over the place. As is the questing and story progression. Following the main story is so hard when IN main story quests you are thrown from a cutscene of the mc and other characters going over huge story building and plot building, to the characters immediately having to help a girl find some candy? In the same quest. Just for the girl to tell you a bit of info maybe on the main plot. Yet. the quest is still just "get the girl the candy" instead of progressing to the actual point and narrative of the story now that we have some info. Then after getting the candy.. your sent to talk to an old man about his countries collapse... bro where in the fuck is the special sea shell we were supposed to be looking for and what we were initially talking about?? Or did we just forget that was the main quest. Why am i talking to Danzo about sharigans right now. We were supposed to be looking for a sea shell to progress the main plot.. 🤦🏻 THEN.. after you save the old mans entire... country... you have to help a cat find a dog in the woods and cook them chicken tacos. For no fucking reason at all. Where at some point.. never know when. Youll eventually continue on the main plot and find the sea shell. This is 99% of the story in all of these types of games. Among many other story progression issues. The narrative and plots/stories could.. be amazing. If they didnt have filler episodes in the MIDDLE of main quests/plots being built

Ngl this is my i struggle with genshin I started when Fontaine was completed and my friend who's started since day 1 always gets frustrated with me because she says the story is easy to follow follow. Ma'am... im not a day 1 it's alot to follow and some content is gone so i gottta watch videos on KZbin. Rn I'm on Sumeru while also looking at Natlan quest I'm behind and confused lol

Honestly, did we expect anything but disaster as soon as the announcement they had to rewrite 90% of the story? In fact, what is worse is the fanbase of WuWa because they love to attack anything Hoyo-related, they did this with Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and recently Zenless Zone Zero whenever someone threw shade at the game and if they get call out well 9/10 times they will you call a hoyo-shill. I am sorry, but I think WuWa fans need to take a pill because if you want this game to rival Genshin, attacking Hoyo's other games while ignoring criticism isn't the way. Like, I tried playing Wuthering Waves and while gameplay is fun...the story, yeah is just a complete mess and it doesn't help in terms of presentation...it's awful and the voice acting which I think everyone agrees is bad.

People would attack on anything regardless to protect “their game” by just nitpicking every little details. I might just be the minority that can enjoy every Hoyo and Wuwa games at my own pace if I dare say so myself. I enjoy the game for my own entertainment.

@@DarkuleFox I agree and the problem of trying to find valid criticism of games like these is well... clickbait or drama farmers are just everywhere which muddy the water. But in WuWa fans...oh boy, I can still recall the time they tried to accuse Hoyo of 'sabotaging' their game after people voiced their opinions about the story and voice acting...especially the latter, then it just snowballed into attacking Hoyo's other games with ZZZ being the most recent example.
