i'm surprised with the choice for worst patch! don't know what my pick would have been, but the explanation you gave made so much sense. even the top pick was surprising since most casual players i'm friends with (and i myself) like the golden archipelago more fondly than inazuma. don't know how to explain it, but i think something about genshin as a game and community shifted with inazuma, and not for the better. at the same time i think the brevity of golden archipelago is what made it so positively nostalgic! something tells me if the golden archipelago were a permanent area or lasted any longer, the shine would wear off. thanks for this video, it's put together so cleanly!

I started at the end of 1.4, so it kinda bummed me that I missed 1.3, but reading people's opinions about the lantern rite made me regret it less lol. I'm sad that I missed 1.2 though solely because I missed Festering Desire. Also I agree that aside from the Albedo event in 2.3, I don't actually remember much of that patch aaand not surprised about the top 2 hahaha. (lmao gold = zhongli. so true) Really well done video! You should really have more views. I'm going to subscribe and look forward to more from you. :D

I do agree with some of the choices but the worst patch for me was actually 2.2 - that dark battle domain that destroyed my eyes in so much darkness meanwhile the best patch was 1.6 for 2021 and also 2.4

I would argue 1.5 is right up there wtih 1.4 for worst patch because the content added didn't really impact things much. Only a very small portion of the player base actually care about the teapot outside of the 60 extra resin weekly and energy amplifier was not the most enjoyable "big highlight event" of the patch. 1.5 did have good smaller events, windtrace, the hilichurl one and misty dungeon. 1.4's windblume festival gave us a close look at mondstadt as a city with its own culture and philosophies. The big "We Will be Reunited" archon quest also came out of this patch, and that really focused on us the traveler and in a sense why we're in Teyvat to begin with. I do agree with the weird limited events in 1.4, although I liked them a bit better than energy amplifier (maybe because I started playing regularly in 1.3) but I still didn't care for energy amplifier in its rerun.

Yeah, when I made this I debated on whether or not to judge a patch based on how good the main story quest in it was, but I decided against that. I wanted to really focus on the events as well as large additions instead. Because, yeah, I really liked "We Wil Be Reunited" as well. Lol
