I love what you guys are doing at Hakuna Matata farm. 2 quick suggestions: have you considered adding fish to your system; they could provide all the nutrients you need for your lettuce? That would be a huge saving I imagine. 2nd thing: have you considered using shade net as opposed to plastic for your tunnels? I think this might be better suited to your climate there in Zambia...

What part of preserving one of the best ecosystems and the only natural wonder -vic falls in Africa equals poverty to you? Since when does preserving our natural wonders and heritage equal poverty? There are already two big dams on the Zambezi river...Kariba and Cabora bassa dams....isn't that enough development on one river system? Why should protecting the tourism value of this area not be supported ? This is not the era for destructive development ...this is the era of sustainable development because of climate change...measured development that respects our culture and nature is the way forward. Alternative energy sources are meant to be supplement hydro power....hydropower alone can not satisfy the needs of Zambia and Zimbabwe and Southern Africa...as we speak loadshedding has commenced ...the Kariba can not cope with low water levels ...so why not invest in alternative energy sources?

@Richard Kille Everyone knows NAPSA owns it (Paul Shalala released an article that details what happened from A to Z), but it is called the Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Resort, how is it misinformation to state a fact-that the Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Resort sits in the elephant corridor? It is called Radisson Blu isn't it? And they accepted to manage it didn't they? Radisson Blu has a reputation for adhering to environmental laws, why have these values suddenly been abandoned in this case? Napsa, Radisson Blu, ZEMA and government all share the blame for environmental recommendations not being followed. And there is nothing wrong with calling out Radisson Blu for accepting to manage a resort whose flaws they are fully aware of! The blood from the human-wildlife conflict stains Radisson Blu's hands too for their role in this, do not make it look like they are innocent little angels suffering from the consequences of other stakeholders' decisions....they want to make a business and profit out a situation they should have refused to be part of...they should have been first to call out the flaws and demand for accountability before accepting to manage the property. At the end of the video we call for corrective action from ZEMA and DNPW....bet you didn't get that right?

We specifically want to hold Radisson Blu that accepted to manage this property in a third world country's world heritage site accountable!!! And we will not stop holding any corporation that puts profits over environmental sustainability and nature to a high standard. Radisson Blu as a global corporation must be held to a very high standard, if ordinary citizens are held accountable for being in possession of stolen goods, why should a global corporation not be held accountable for its role in accepting to manage a property tainted with question marks? A property that contributes to the threat now present towards the world heritage site status of the Victoria falls, and Mosi-oa-Tunya? And the irony of even calling themselves Mosi-oa-Tunya when their business threatens its very heritage status!!! Radisson Blu must do the right thing and pull out....otherwise we wont stop holding them accountable just like we won't stop holding government (the Ministers of Tourism and Green Economy, NAPSA, ZEMA and DNPW) accountable too!

So what will the future of the Lower Zambezi National Park be if the Kangaluwi mine goes ahead as scheduled? What is the point of the National Park becoming a Biosphere Reserve if it still accommodates a mine and clearly ignores the negative impacts of the mine? Surely merely mapping or rezoning the mine out of the Biosphere Reserve while it remains exactly in the same position physically in the park is some kind of greenwashing isn't it? Isn't a Biosphere Reserve's top priority to ensure the ecological integrity of the park at the very least remains the same or at best improves? How then does this park's ecological status remain the same or improve if the mine proceeds in the park with the Biosphere Reserve's blessings?
