Hi Mark and Jules hope you are both well. We do love Calke it's great to be able to see how these great houses suffered under the continual effect of inheritance tax. We agree about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory you never see that in these libraries or any famous five 😆 for thst matter. The collections are fascinating you see something new everytime you visit. The tunnels are fantastic well done Julie for braving them.They were decorated with blossom last time we were there. The gardens are beautiful we love them especially the palms in the walled gardens. The gardeners tunnel leads you behind the heated greenhouses they are not as bad as they look. Thank you for sharing your day with us. It has loads of great walks as you say a decent day out. You take as many photos as I do Julie It's great you can do that with our modern cameras, when I was young I always wished there were cameras where you could take as many photos as you wanted rather than just 12 24 or 36. They are fascinating but I’m claustrophobic so it was hard work but as you said I did it! 😳😄 Like you Dawn I also love taking lots of photos, you take amazing ones and they tell quite a story of where you have been. Hi Mark and Jules we love Burghley its so beautiful and such a lot to do there. The garden of surprises is fantastic isnt it, the water is welcome on such a warm day. Its really good if you go when kids are in school you can spend ages there. We have HH membership too its great value. Love the birthday t shirt Jules. We will always call the snail Charles in your honour in future 🐌. I always say those cows are a bit depressing too 😆 not the best sculpture in the garden. The house has to be one of our all time favourites every time we visit we are amazed by it all. We especially love the painted walls and ceilings so fabulous you always see something different every time you visit. What a great day out as you say its definitely something to revisit. We love the model village its fantastic isn't it. We like Midsomer murders too although wouldn't fancy living there with the crime rate being so high. Thanks for the lovely comment guys 😊 One thing I didn’t mention in the video is that there was ample parking at The Observatory for us in our camper, although it was only late May when we visited 👍 We were blessed with a lovely day so much so that I managed to burn my knees in the first hour sitting out in the sun at The View Cafe on the beach front at Winthorpe (A lovely place with ample street parking that we didn’t film - Gives us a reason to return)

@@markhatfield5460 we used to stay at Winthorpe in a caravan when I was a child. It’s lovely and a walk to the beach through the sand dunes. Car park sounds good. I’m just thinking what your knees looked like 🤣

I wondered if I was going to be a mall near Sheffield, OH a suburb of Cleveland. Most of our malls have cloesed because the stores could not compete with the older shopping plazas. For non-American viewers this may be an interesting video, but in my opinion once you have seen one mall you have pretty much seen them all. Therefore I will give a thumbs up for our foreign viewers but for me, why was this video made.

If all goes to plan we will be selling our current camper and getting a CV40 as we want the option of a lounge when parked up for a few days, our fixed bed campervan lacks this option. We too turned our small wardrobe into a storage area by putting in a drawer unit so we will be doing the same in the CV40. Do you have a link or details of the one you used please? It will save us searching for the right fit. Thanks both, keep up the video's and hopefully meet you on the road somewhere

When i lived nearby it used to be great for dog walks, but over the years theyve constantly kept developing and redeveloping the site, trying to turn it into some sort of childrens summer camp. It used to be a nature reserve with free parking, woodland and a cafe. Particularly in summer its hell. Screaming kids, blaring music, burnt ground everywhere from tin foil BBQs and the associated rubbish..beer cans, , cigarette butts, pop bottles even dirty nappies. Ive seen homeless people living in tents in what's left of the woods. there are security cameras everywhere, the water has become full of algae with warnings not to let dogs into the water. Years ago it used to be a serious sporting venue for canoeing, rowing and even national angling championships. There are almost no fish there. It now floods regularly. When they put on events the locals stay well away from the place and tend to go elsewhere. Its main use is as a training venue for canoeing and trying to turn it into some sort of theme park. I ended up loathing it. Notts is undergoing an massive increase in population growth and enormous amounts of increased infrastructure. 4000 houses are being built near Holme Pierrepont as Phase 1 of 4. There are rumours of a bridge crossing from the A52 across it and into Colwick. So glad I moved away and now live in rural England , where real nature and lakes are literally outside my front door.

Thank you. This place is sacred to me. My sister was married there, and the funerals of both of my parents were held there. As a child, we lived just up the road. I went to Southwell Minster Grammar School. We walked 50 yards each morning to have our assemblies each day in the cathedral quire. Every day, I walked past this noble building to have lunch at home, with the bells ringing the tune of "Southwell" in my ears. We played rugby and cricket in its shadow. Such memories.

Thank you both! We thought of Roxy today as we went to Bourton-on-the-Water (a future Vlog) and the River Windrush runs through the pretty village and a few dogs were loving being in the cool clear water just like Roxy! 🖖🏻😊
