So purely for the need to lighten the load, should I trade in the 6d mk2 to the r6 mk2. Has it comfortably replaced the 6dmk2? Also any RF lenses that you have found any better than the EF equivalents. Even just a bit lighter will help. Teetering as dont want to make a mistake. Any regrets? - I should imagine you have kept the 6dmk2! No complaints but really do need to evaluate set up. Ta

@@tracylee.g. i'm the perfect person to answer since i did keep it, but i haven't used it for anything but take photos of the R6ii for this thumbnail for example hahaha. Still it's nice to have a backup camera for whatever case, or in case i somehow lost my R6, i know i'd immediately have a camera ready to go though i never take it in shoots When shooting a festival i brought both of them with me to use two lenses at once but only used the R6, i just switched to EF through the adapter as they work seamlessly. I have a 2-3 decade old 135mm f2 and it works perfectly on the R6, as well as my 50mm 1.8 and even an old Tamron 24-70 2.8. So yes the R6ii is better in every possible sense and i really don't need the 6D around anymore but i'm keeping it because why not, but i might replace it with a Canon R8 for the 4K video, in case i need a two camera setup (though at the same time i could just rent one for the day) So to summarise, in terms of neccessity no, you don't need it. In terms of satisfaction, keeping it is fun if you don't need the money right now.

great video for a Totally Viable Camera in 2024. you did a great review on this camera. I agree with your evaluation. I have a 50D, 70d, and the 6d mk2. if I need 4K video I have a Drone, and a Gopro. the main point is: camera people will always want to buy new and exciting, but at some point, we need to USE THE EQUIPMENT that you already own. the 6D mk 2 is awesome.

I just got the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 for Sony and I gotta say I've never used a lens more versatile, can cover 99% of any event with just that one lens. A nice versatile lens really makes all the difference.
@PhotoDardha3 ай бұрын
Very true actually, that lens is amazing and it sucks they don't make it for Canon but hopefully soon. Do you have trouble with it not going as wide as 24mm?
@chartedlife3 ай бұрын
@@PhotoDardha It's incredible! I've only gotten to take it to one car meet so far but wow did it perform. Personally I just upgraded from a Nikon D3200 (APS-C) to a Sony A7III (full frame) so really the 35mm feels wide to me. I have a Tamron 10-28 (14mm-40mm full frame equiv) for my old Nikon and sure it would be cool to get that wide too but I'm used to shooting a 35mm prime on APS-C or a 50mm prime most of the time so just taking a couple steps back is second nature. I was able to get full body car shots without much issue at all at 35mm. If anything a second camera or even your phone could cover the wider end no problem since depth of field matters much less.
@PhotoDardha3 ай бұрын
@chartedlife sounds perfect then. I'm more of a guy that will take a few steps back and be on a longer focal length too, and now that i think about it i probably wouldn't miss the 24mm either. Nice to hear you found one that fits you well Cheers mate!
@chartedlife3 ай бұрын
@@PhotoDardha Heck yeah, learning to properly shoot with a prime makes a zoom that much stronger. It's a beast haha, hope you get the chance to try it on Canon! It's only real weaknesses are the size / weight + lack of OIS. Take care, happy photon collecting!
@PhotoDardha3 ай бұрын
@chartedlife very true, working with primes makes you really utilize zooms well And interesting i didn't know it didn't have OIS, though with a stabilized body it should be fine to some degree Thank you, you too and happy photon collecting as well :)
