I have always enjoyed using two bodies at the same time. Totally agree that the 80D and 6DII are perfect companions. And for any photographer who doesn't need 4k video, these will continue to be great tools for years. Don't forget that the M50 is essentially a tiny mirrorless 80D. I keep one handy for on-the-go.

Appreciate the honest review. Today I picked up an 80D to go along with my go-to camera, the Canon 6D original. The 80D gives me the articulating screen, headphone and mic jacks, and the articulating screen. Plus decent 1080P video. Those I wanted. I thought about the 6DMKII, but the 80D covers the key points I wanted for much less.

The 80D is a great second camera. I use mine a second camera for my 90D. The make a fine team.

True, it really us a nice second camera. Though if you wanna be more versatile you could switch it for the 6Dii and have even more range on what you can achieve with them

The M50 might have better features over all as it's a more modern style camera but myself I wouldn't go for it because it has very limited lens choices with it's M mount, and it's less comfortable of a camera to use compared to the larger and more professionally built 80D

I can buy a used one for $460 just the body. its ok? ;) and buy new lens ef50mm1.8stm. OR buy a6100 ? mainly for portraits, a wall at home and some background, Christmas sessions etc. THANKS!

Hey there, just saw the comment The 80D is really nice as an all round camera and it LOOKS more professional but the Sony is a mirrorless camera, has 4K and is more modern over all. You can get some lenses then eventually switch to a better Sony body and you'll be doing amazing.

Yes, the image quality is really nice. But I'd suggest if you can save up for a little longer get a 6Dii, used it's usually only around 200 more and it's a way better camera.

Maybe you made a decision by now but go for the 80D, it has way better lens options and it'll have better battery life too

I have no idea why you made this review. I have a Canon rebel T3 with 2 kit lenses, enough for hobby photographer like me. Now I am going for professional photography online course. 80D will be my next camera with good lenses. Why you wanna sell 80D. Well 80D is more than enough for still photography. Choice and money is yours but 80D is perfect simply.

Because with my new 6D i can crank up the ISO to 10000 and have a clean shot, i need that ability for professional shoots

I think they usually work on crop sensor mirrorless, but there should be one for DSLRs like the 80D as well
