I think you're confusing Nintendo World Championships with NES Remix on the Wii U and 3DS. They have similar ideas, but they are not the same games. Nintendo World Championships was actually a series of tournament carts from the NES and SNES era. This Switch version is bringing back that premise with new games and challenges (and other features), although I understand why people might get things mixed up.

To be fair with the initial DQ murals, any reaction that i watched had them instantly assume fire emblem almost every time (honestly have nothing better to do then watch people get hyped while i watch the same direct over and over again lol). Also you dont have to play DQ in any particular order, its like saying you should play Lufia 2 before Lufia 1 just because its a prequel but knowing what happens in the past doesn't necessarily change how you see the game, it just gives you more context when they talk about heros past.

Though the Dragon Quest games can be played in any order the reason they recommend 3 first is more for story reasons. In I & II you hear about the legendary hero who preceded you, in III you see what he did to become the legend. Also I & II can be seen as a tad shorter gameplay wise when compared to III. Well at least the original NES version anyways.
