Idk man, you say it's not because they featured a woman, but a lot of the comments here by your fans are blaming "wokeness" for the game's failure.

“Pay less and wait 3 days,” someone said. Most games go on sale 2 weeks after release, one month tops … I think to get more people in their stores, ActiBlizz is the only one I’ve seen doesn’t

The most enraging thing about BF5 for me was the blatant rewriting of actual historical events. The sabotage of the heavy water plant in Norway was NOT done by a teenage girl trying to save her mother. Also that «fjord» that the submarine appears in, is a fucking LAKE in real life…

I don’t get why people say there are soooo many zombies games. You know what’s oversaturated? Military shooters. Platformers. fantasy/medieval RPG’s. JRPG’s. Way more than zombie games lol I don’t get why zombie games get targeted when there are way more game genres that are just completely oversaturated. Like if you don’t enjoy zombie games that’s fine, you don’t enjoy them. But that doesn’t mean there are too many. I mean I HATE JRPG’s. But I’ve never once thought they should stop making them, or there are too many. Because people enjoy them. Of course they’ll keep making them. But idk, it’s just weird to me that it’s this genre that is viewed as “too much”.

At this point just assume the developers have an inability to understand subtlety. For those of us that DO have an issue with playing as characters just for being female, we have to say so plainly. Saying we don’t have an issue with it and going into long roundabout explanations of all the reasons why is just being translated into “ok then let’s keep trying to get players to enjoy playing as a woman”

To be honest, both games are still very fun and heavily played even till today.... I have 500+ hours in BFV and 300+ in BF1 and I'm pretty sure there a lot of other people with at least double the hours....

Another point about early access and review is the importance of a good first impression. The general gaming puplic will often not play every game but will gage the quality based on reviews and the general discussion of a game online. This can people say: "Oh yeah, that game is good." or "I heard it was hot garbage.". The review score themselves might not matter that much if the discussion around the game is positive in general. Gamers did not look at reviews of Concord and made the decision not to buy and play. It was not well marketed and the discussions online were overwhelmingly negative. Games Journalist and Influencers in general have a lot of power with how we percive a product. The games officall marketing might determine a games immediate succses but I belive that long term success comes from good word of mouth. Trailers stop mattering once the games is out (at least mostly), but the reviews and disscussion of the game will determine a games long term success. (Or at least in my opinion)
@TheRealPeachPit3 сағат бұрын
Some very good points! Word of mouth is definitely king! And you're totally right about reviews and online discussion being a core aspect of that. I never saw a trailer for Space Marine 2, but just heard how great it was from the discussion surrounding it. A great example is Apex Legends. Their entire marketing strategy was relying on games journalists and influencers since they didn't release a trailer ahead of the game's launch.

I honestly don't care what anyone says. At the end of its life, BFV has become my favorite title of the franchise, coming from BF4 being my favorite. It's quite literally most of the BF1 mechanics, but even better. Movement, fortifications, vehicle combat, being a squad leader was actually worthwhile, and so much more make the experience great. I never was too thrilled with BF1 also though, even though it definitely is a great game, it just wasn't my cup of tea, but I am always in the mood for BFV, but I can't say the same for other games in the franchise. It truly is massively underrated still.

No the issue is the woman. Action movies and games have never been about "strong women" just as romance movies and books have never been about action heroes. We want heroes and men and sacrifice. Thats the genre. We dont want woke crap.

13:58 “they introduced many new and unique mechanics such as rebuilding destroyed environments” Battlefield 2 had that ability. It’s not new by any means, it’s a returning feature. Just saying, Battlefield 2 is to this day still the most well known and loved battlefield of the series. Dice needs to go back to that.
