For the parking brake clip, I used needle nose vice grip/locking pliers. You put one side if the Jaws on the inside open end of the clip and the other side of the Jaws on the stud and it should just pop right off.

Easiest way I've found to do this repair on the damaged hinge is to spot weld to build the worn side of the hole back up and use a carbide bit and angle grinder to grind it back into a circular shape for the pin to fit snug. Way easier than drilling off and replacing with a new hinge.

Why is fuel POURING out? You get a few drops!
@SuburbanRanch2 сағат бұрын
It depends how long it has been sitting. Fuel pressure leaks down as it sits.
@kgbreviews3520 сағат бұрын
So the problem was with the pan, not the gasket from the last video?
@SuburbanRanch2 сағат бұрын
Maybe. Probably both. This is the combo we recommend.

Well based on your last video. I just wasted my money on two of those gaskets. I would update in the comment section. That people should ignore that video if your going to keep it up. It migt save someone a transmission rebuild.. @SuburbanRanch

@SuburbanRanch2 күн бұрын
Repainting the frame was a process done over many days, no video unfortunately.

@@SuburbanRanch Thank you. Can you give a brief description in a reply of how you did that? 1. Tools used; grinder?, what kind of pads, wire brushes, etc.? 2. Paint/primer used 3. Process used; what were the steps you used to complete that job? I guess you sanded the frame down to the metal and then primed and painted it? If you could take a piece of a frame and go through that briefly in a video it would be extremely helpful! A lot of us are dealing with significant rust on the frame.
@SuburbanRanch2 күн бұрын
@davidschmitt3030 Our truck wasn’t that rusty (southern truck) so the job wasn’t as bad as yours might be. We used any and all things to scuff and remove debris from the surface. Wire brushes, sanding pads, scrappers. Once it was cleaned and scuffed we followed the directions from the paint manufacturer. We used Rustoleum primer and paint. It was a terrible job and I don’t ever want to do it again!

Question about AC clutch cycle.. I made R134a conversion with new parts.. (Evaporator is only old part). I also have new R134a pressure switch on dryer. I fill system 8oz PAG150 oil and 2lb R134a refrigerant. System works qnd blows really cold, but clutch cycle is really fast, couple seconds on and couple seconds off.. Is that normal?? Truck is 1990 regular cab with R4 compressor.

No, sounds like you are tripping the low pressure switch. I’d check with manifold gauges and likely add more refrigerant

After the abs system in my 1994 Chevrolet tried to kill me three separate times I bypassed everything and was glad I did. It felt like something was lodged under the brake pedal when I had to apply the brakes quickly. I got the truck in late 1993 and over the course of a few years learned there were braking issues with this vehicle. By late 1997 I had seen enough. The truck is currently getting restored. The ABS system will not be part of the efforts.
