This video is now 10 years old but it has made me realise that my grandmother, when I was a kid try to teach me to knit and when I found the traditional method too hard, she taught me this - I never knew it as speed knitting, just a comfortable way to knit. My grandmother isn't with us anymore but recently been thinking about knitting again and this has just reminded me of a long lost memory. Thanks!

I'm 26 years old guy, I quit my job a week ago bc it has been stressing me out and I have been at home and I'm extension student so I'll be graduating this year but today I was praying and saw the knitting stuff my grandma used to it and my mother started do it but she stopped, so today I decided to learn how to knitt ,if my grandma was here I don't know what she would say but she would have like it that am doing ,I have lost my grandma almost now 8 years ago, and I'm happy that am doing this thinking of her ,with the memories I had with her . 🤍 I love you so much and may your soul rest in peace in God's hand.

In 2007, I wanted to hand make all my Christmas gifts, so I went to a friends house on a 1hr break from work, and she quickly taught me how to knit. I was so passionate about learning that all I needed was that hour, and TOOK OFF! I made TONS of scarves using very expensive skeins, balls, and combinations, using more than 1 yarn per scarf (in some cases 3 at once) and beautiful artwork happened! That was the ONLY year I knitted. Now 2025 (fresh 3 days into the year) I had a sudden desire to knit again and I COMPLETELY forgot how!! I came across your video and it all came back!! Thank you! You are an excellent teacher!

Whoever said knitting is easier than crochet was lying to me. With hook i was able to follow tutoriar right away but wuth needless, it's very discouraging. Like dont get me wrong, instructions are good and clear, and i get what i should be doing, but i just cant. I cant get my tension right, i guess thats why i just cant stik it into the loops, and yarn that supposed to be another row is just doesnt stay on a needle, so i cant form another row. Like, yewh, i need to pause this video to shout ay my self cause whats wrong with me, like its been half a pn hour of me trying and crying. I even managed somehow to broke one of the needles my mom got me, ind now i feel even worse cause it probably meant to create cmth beautiful, but ended up like this🥲

How mamy stitches to make a 10 by 10 square inch

This tutorial makes sense! But, when I get the first actual stitch to the other needle, it's so tight I can't slide it down. Any pointers on why this is happening?

my grandma was going to teach me how to knit when I was younger but that never happened. she passed away in 2023 and today I got a random urge to try to knit. I have never picked up any hobby as quikly as I just did with knitting. thank you :)
