This was very interesting info. I wish I knew about this before I walked the Camino St James Way pilgrimage 9 years ago to celebrate my 70. I likely walked past or walked through your town at that time! My starting point was St Jean Pied de Port. Amazingly I did the entire journey to Santiago de Compostela in one month … not easy but totally worth the experience. You and Larent might want to consider doing it someday since you are living nearby. There are so may walks in France to experience. Your place would be ideal for pilgrims to stay a night or two as they pass through. 🤓 Thought you would find this interesting.

ps - keep wearing gloves to garden.. I was bitten by a Mediterranean Recluse spider (google) a month ago and have spent three days in various A&E before being treated by a specialist in Toulouse. I was like you and quite casual about the thought but... here I am and lucky to still have my finger.. I am a bit further south than you.

Ouch…I will remember that when I’m working in Cara’s garden soon. (True confession: I never wear gloves when I garden🙈 But suddenly I feel motivated to start doing that!) I hope your bites heal soon. Helper #2

fab vlog thankyou so much! just a tip (from an old gardener) at 6:27 on your vid you have a large rose that has had a hard time with blackspot? Suggest that you prune (yep I know its summer but roses can take it..) quite hard back. When you prune; look for the outward facing bud - or a bud where you want a branch to go in a particular direction, and cut just above it. Then clear around the base of the rose and buy a bag of horse manure from the brico and give it a good water and use it as a mulch. When your roses fade - and I know your life is hectic so not a reasonable ask - prune back to the next five pointed leaf on the plant taking off the old buds and it should keep going with blooms for longer.

Would crushed stone be an option for defining the paths in the garden? They would also help with the weed invasion. Just a thought. Can’t wait to see what projects your helpers take on!! Take care.

Gardening is my happy place … so satisfying and relaxing but it never ends. You did a fantastic job especially removing that invasive vine. It must have runners underground. If I were your neighbour, I would be happy to help you out and dig out the root.

Pink flowers are on the butterfly bushes you have in a row there. You can transplant some of those iris too. You should transplant and dig some clumps of German Iris you have to thin them out. You also have a oak tree growing on that corner that you never got to, because of the brambles, you don't want that along the bottom of the foundation of your house. You should dig that up and transplant it elsewhere before it gets big.And makes a mess of your foundation.

The colour orange suits that big room with contrasting cream. I feel you need to paint your doors a cream to finish off in the room. Once you put pictures up and a gilt style mirror, wow! I can see it coming together. I love that you have a go at all jobs and get stuck in. Well done, Cara. 🎉

How do you ensure that the piece of wood that you are sawing has edge surfaces/faces At right angles to the upper and lower surfaces. I ask this because with the motor box sitting on top of paint Can they end that is not being cut is hanging out of the box and probably as an angle down to the floor. A solution would be to use another paint can for the FAR end of the material.

To be honest, with a piece ôf wood 2.5 meters long the eagle is so slight that I have never noticed it to make any difference
