I don't think I ever cried from a FPS game. Like mechanically it doesn't work with running and gunning and shooting or whatever because your main objective is to kill shit. But this game is so goddamn beautiful. All those that sacrificed so much aren't even real but the storytelling is so good and full of meaning that to this day I get goosebumps and my eyes tear up.

you know what I hate? playthroughs where people are talking over the game, you know that I hate wost. the walkthroughs that ran past enemys lie they are speed runners but they are not.

The story telling in this mission was something else. The dialogue, the scenery, the transport being blown out of the sky the instant it took off…

I love how one of the soldiers stays behind at the tower and doesn’t even attempt to board the tank

I always hated this level

It JUST struck me after all these years why there's so much water in the early part of the level: the ice caps were melted by the Covenant using plasma to glass the planet. Sword Base is in Reach's arctic. That water should have been frozen solid.

This mission really made me hate the Covenant. Just the knowledge if you fail, thousands of families are gonna be murdered, gets me pumped whenever I play it. A lot of people seem to find it depressing. I just get angry. This game is great for making you feel like you're fighting for something more.

ayo wait a minute, now this isnt novel accurate right? at 12:53 and sometime before, you can see Pvt Jenkins and LT. E Mckenzie.. but both of them are on 04 as well. Idr what happens to mckenzie, but Jenkins is turned into flood and is there when Mckay destroys the Truth and Reconcilation....

I used to think the description for Jun’s firefight voice was sarcastic when it said that he talks to much. Now I find him oddly being one the most sociable of noble, next to Jorge.

You know, I get the feeling that the writing of the ending of this mission in particular world be much, much better today, or in the next few years. A lotta people are coming home right now with very real perspectives on what that kind of situation looks and feels like.
