Having an opinion as a girl is as considered "bad behavior" back then. Think about that.

Cloud Atlas was ahead of its times. It's one of those movies that people begin to appreciate more and more as time passes by.... as they begin to get it!

That poor Beautiful child was sexually molested by males and at least one female ! They used to wake her up at night to abuse her. I believe that is why she always had trouble sleeping as an adult ! Anyone who harms a child will be punished greatly by God ! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Like many my first exposure to Alice's adventure was through the Jefferson Airplane. If Lewis was ordained by the Church of England, it's difficult to believe there aren't some biblical allusions included in the book.

I'm not sure this is a film meant to be understood in the classical sense. From the deeply entrenched Buddhist belief in reincarnation to that of current notions of a multiverse cosmology suggested by some of the more bizarre and fuzzling data from the JWST, this film is perhaps ahead of its time as a feature friday night popcorn flic... but I thought it was great :)

It amuses me to see how deeply the stories have been mulled over for greater context given the simple fact that these tales were indeed just the off the cuff musings of Charles during his times spent with the Liddell sisters. No greater intent was there other than to simply occupy the time he spent with them. The the second offering, Through the Looking Glass, crafted years later to Alice herself, was simply an attempt by Charles to reignite the then estranged connection he had with her.

😊 no, her mother didn't give her up for mental health reasons. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia and she was given up to a family that raised her until 17 when she got married. So no she was not in 11 homes but she was adopted

Loved it, “Cloud Atlas” is right up there with “What dreams may come” for me. Reincarnation is false. There are 8.2 billion souls alive today. Population growth alone proves that it is false. More souls exist than have ever lived, died or existed on Earth for them to have been all recycled by reincarnation it means that new souls are born. Even greater population growth, only proves this point even more.

It is a movie made for narcissistic actors and a vertical slice of their acting abilities and does not do the book justice. It is such a pity as there are way deeper concepts in the book other than a watered down idea of the reincarnation shown in this movie. One thing I cannot deny is that the setting and cinematography is very nice and shows the directors really know their onions just a shame about the writing and dumbed down ideas for that mythical wider audience, look on the bright side at least it was not all about race and gender inserts.

She wasn't adopted 11 times. She was shuffled around to foster "families", where she was frequently abused.

I never knew this about Marilyn Monroe. Her childhood was traumatic and she must have also had the genes for mental illness, her life must have been v difficult. It's important to remember that being beautiful and famous does not necessarily lead to happiness!

In my opinion it is a solid science fiction masterpiece. If someone can't grasp the basic ideas and theme of film they are to consumed with themselves. It is the best movie I've seen.

Marilyn, norma jean was NOT adopted 11 times. She was fostered & placed in an orphanage but could not be adopted as her mother was alive in a mental asylym. Her mother took her back but unfortunately was returned to the asylum. Grace a good friend friend of her mother gat custody of her. Get your facts right, she was not adopted 11 times & was well behaved.

If you're pretty the entire world will sympathize with you. As this clearly states she had behavioral problems because she knew she was attractive, thats why she was adopted 11 times while other kids are barely adopted. All her life she leveraged her looks always wanting more, till she had JFK. So we should conclude that her good looks drove her insane and got her killed eventually. People should genuinely feel bad for so many people who need help around them if they're so compassionate.

After a lifetime of misery now in death too, she gets defiled with that insulting statue of her in Palm Springs. Playboy’s creep ’Hugh Hefner,’ getting his corpse put beside hers for eternity. Also Richard Poncher’s body was placed face down above Marilyn. His wife tried to sell Dicks crypt but the sale fell through, so unfortunately he’s still there, staring down at her. Will she never be let rest in peace. It’s a disgrace.
