You should weld them curls out your beard. Who do you think you are some type of philosophical welder.

You should talk about how you calculated the amount of material you removed to make the bends….
@JonasWanted14 күн бұрын
First you have to have the angle and the position where you will make the bend. In this point, make a line square with the face of the steel beam, then with a steel protractor, make an angled line with the first one. With this, in the opposite side make another angled line with the first one. In the end you will have a isosceles or maybe an equilateral triangle where the first line that you have drew it's the triangle's height. You have to pay attention where the three line joint. This point will be offset from the beam's face, with a offset equal the thickness of the beam. Without this, you will have a large gap to welding. With practice you will learn to control the amount gap you want.

I welded for 45 years. Am retired now. I always had a job. Had enough $ to be married and raise two beautiful kids. Welding is a great job. A new adventure everyday. I learned the secrets to threaded pipe fitting too. I ran many hundreds of feet in chemical plants, papermills, hospital boiler rooms. Did this on top of ladders and scaffolds. Not one leak. Met lots of great people, some not so great. Over all, I enjoyed the journey.

maybe check with your local pressure washing companies and you could land a job to build an aluminum skid setup for their truck and equipment- It pays $4500+ here on the east coast.

Got my JIW in 1982 and things sure have changed. We didn't tie off, wear respirators or have man lifts. We always worked with a partner and in Detroit (25) back then all overtime was double time. We took care of the old timers and the men that attended our union meetings. We didn't work in the rain or the extreme cold and we always had five men whenever we worked with a crane. Retired since 2010
@rocky139911 ай бұрын
We still operate that way in local 40 nyc except of the tie offs and occasional man lifts
