I don't dislike or hate Jake Paul at all however though he is a punk fighting 58yr old man that is a legend in the sport is just a cowardly ass move in my opinion... talking about he is going to be the champion faster than anyone thinks yet he isn't even fighting anyone relevant in that sport today only people that are retired. His next fight is with Ali

Am I underthinking it, or does being a black belt in simple terms just mean you've been training consistently for at least 10 years? Not including for prior grappling experience and gym politics such as moving around a lot. I just feel if you're on the mats in one spot for around 10 years, you're going to get there whether you're a competitor or not.
@thepracticaldad
@thepracticaldad 21 күн бұрын
The way my coach explained it was, based on your age, weight, gender and belt, you should be able to go anywhere in the world and be competitive with people the same age, weight, gender and belt as you. Training time wasn't something he gave much consideration.
@CombatCreativeCo
@CombatCreativeCo 5 күн бұрын
I think you're correct. The skills and knowledge need to be there. I cant imagine training consistently for 10 years and you not have enough skills or knowledge.

I was a brown belt when my coach passed away unexpectedly. We were due to goto a seminar a few weeks after his passing. So i went alone. Mainly hoping to talk to others coaches for advice on what i should be doing now. I was given my black belt at the seminar, unaware my coach had set it up before he passed. I was then left to be the coach at our small club. And i have been struggling ever since. Being a black belt has been a curse as it has put so much preassure in me to run our club. So i havent had any time to enjoy just being a black belt.

@sult4ncagri A lot of people point t to that. Keep in mind, Connor kept the belt for 2 years without a title defenses, and no one wanted to fight Khabib even when he was only ranked like 15. There was no one (Pettis or Alvarez) that could have stopped him, and RDA was champ for years, and we know how that fight went. Either way, he retired undefeated and unscratched. Officially he only lost 2 rounds, but arguably only one. Neither here nor there. Khabib's my GOAT, Who's yours??
