i love whenever people say this episode didn't have all that much action. you aren't the only one, but when you said it at ~ 1:06, it got to me. brother, Yuhabaha unmade an entire city on the ground and rebuilt it in the sky. sure it isn't combat, but it certainly is action 7:48 "for Gods glory" that may (or may not) be the message of the bible. to work together for Gods glory. however, God is not depicted as glorious in TYBW. he is described by his son, Yuhabaha, as suffering a great humiliation. at the hands of the Soul Reapers. the Reio is imprisoned in a crystal, missing all four limbs, and his internal organs. he is a shell, once capable of creating and destroying entire universes. now forced to uphold the cycle of rebirth, as the keystone that maintains the separation of the three worlds. but then he gets absorbed by Yuhabaha. making him the new God of Bleach. and while his motivations for what he does are understandable, that does not make what he does any less monstrous. you are not supposed to be rooting for Yuhabaha. if as a Christian, you see Yuhabaha as an accurate representation of your God, and root for him and the Quincies? while i do get it... you should probably do a little self reflecting. 13:11 4... out of what? 4/5? or 4/10?

My rating scale is 1-5. Thank you for the thought on the difference between action and combat. I will strive to correct my language in future episodes. I agree Ywach does not need to be viewed as a hero or in the same vein as God. I’m a Christian foremost. So what I’m doing in these episodes is I take what happens in them and connect them to teachings from the Bible. For this episode, I take the collaboration of different enemy groups to work together trying to save the world. I think we can learn from how these groups worked together trying to defeat Ywach for Christians to not fight against one another or compete against each other. I hope that helps.

The use of the Bible quote in Relation to Bleach to Awesome cause it shows the illusion of separation in a Taoist framework even though a lot Bleach’s symbolism and world building is a based on Shinto Buddhism.

I totally respect the religious base of what Bleach was based around. I’m looking at episodes of anime as modern day parables where we can talk about our faith and lessons we learn from the events in anime, manga, Star Wars, etc.

Can you make a full on analysis about how biblical bleach is? I'm sure it took a lot of inspiration from the Bible, I just wish someone would make a good video of it, with the full picture of bleach
@frikkityfrakwedotalkbackАй бұрын
Bleach is based around Buddhist and Shinto beliefs because of the cycle of reincarnation with the souls and soul reapers acting as guides of souls to the afterlife. The Quincies symbology has some Christian resonation with similar symbols used. I would totally love to do a deep dive about the series as a whole. I could put that in the works at a future date.

I cant understand that video. No shade, really, but bleach is inspired by Buddhism. The bible is a fantastic book that has a ton of parallels and ifluence all over global media. But alot of the bible ideas, just like you mention in here, are also found in different religions and mythology. Refrencing the bible to a japanese manga that is unapologetically inspired by Japanese Buddhism is pretty much "white-washing". Of course there could be parallels to the bible, but thats forced parallels, if you dont back track first to Buddhism
@frikkityfrakwedotalkback10 ай бұрын
I get the source material for Bleach and religion. What I am doing is drawing parallels from media that we consume, such as anime like Bleach or others like My Hero Academia or Star Wars, etc, and comparing to lessons from the stories that happen in those episodes to lessons we get from the Bible. My intention is not to “white-wash” anything but show that we can learn about lessons of faith in different media and avenues.

I'm not a religious person, but I do find your connecting the show to allegories from the Bible interesting. We do know that George wove in concepts from various religions throughout Star Wars, and it seems Dave and John have continued using the base tropes of these.
@frikkityfrakwedotalkback Жыл бұрын
Totally agree. There are great parallels in Star Wars (especially the prequels) to events of the Old Testament. There are a ton of wars and fallen kings and kingdoms in the Old Testament that can reflect the Clone Wars and the Fall of the Republic. One of the things that I love about Star Wars is that it can mean different things to different people. I'm a pastor, so I have a tendency to see the Bible either intentionally or unintentionally in whatever I see.

@@frikkityfrakwedotalkback there are certain tropes used in all great literary works that apply to all cultures throughout time, the Bible included. The Hero's Journey for example is repeated so many times throughout it.

@@BluhmGardens One of the thing about the people within the Bible is that I can see myself in quite a few of them (most of their mistakes and sins I have committed myself, but also some of their triumphs as well). Also, when I read the epistles from Paul, most of the time, I feel like Paul's talking to me. The same goes for fiction as well. When I read a story and I connect to the characters or events in it, the story/character helps ground it for me. If I can't connect to it then what's the point?
