Wow You just get better my day! I also have a 2006 Suzuki swift 4x4 with the 1.3 non vvt, since here in italy all the m family engines are pretty rare i should find a non vvt engine as i thought... My car is slow up hills and love to drink fuel (where i live it does 10 km per liter of fuel) So you have done nothing with the ecu? Wonderful

@@riccardodefina9551 yes drives much better, it’s hard to tell, I think there has been an increase in how much fuel it uses, but it doesn’t seem like much more. As for performance it makes a real difference. The car is so overweight the 1.3 couldn’t cope now it drives like it should

Hi! Could you explain how you did the electrical part? Did you make a hole in your Jimny, or was it not necessary?

@@danielmprazeres under the passenger side footwell there is a large rubber bung, I gently pushed a coat hanger from the foot well into the engine bay following the existing wiring then taped on my power cable and pulled the hanger back. Hop that helps

Could you further explain why the liana flywheel and starter motor cant stay on the engine?

@@oxdudepoege I believe the amount of teeth are different. To be honest I didn’t count them but I read somewhere that they were different and I had recently brought a brand-new starter motor for my Jimny so I wanted to use that. I’m sure using the Liana Starer and flywheel together would be absolutely fine. But if you was thinking about combining them I would definitely check they are the same first

I did think afterwards it probably would’ve been better to use the 1.6 starter and flywheel combo as the Jimny now has a bit more compression, it might be less strain, but it seems to be working okay atm. If it struggles later on I will change it over next time I do the clutch.

@@GERfusion thx for your response. As you mention compression. Did you never ran into problem with lean condition with the 1.3 injectors on the 1.6 block. For my understaanding the motor should get lesser fuel with the "wrong" injectors and the "wrong" ecu. Or does the ecu somehow recognizes the new motor and adapts its values to it?

@@oxdudepoege I haven’t driven it that much with the 1.3 injectors it seems to drive fine with very little loss in power from the 1.6 injectors. But what i’m going to do is run it for a while, do some nice long journeys in it, then i’ll whip the plugs out and check the colour see if it’s a bit lean.

Hi Ger cracking stuff mate, done the same swap myself. Your NC500 vids inspired me to drive my jimny over from ireland to do the same, NC500 and 10000 miles later still going strong, The m16 makes such a difference. Best of luck with it 👍

My Jimny is dead - engine overheated. :( I need a new engine... Confirmed - engine cracked. I'll see if I can install a 1.6 engine. It has to be registered and the brakes have to be changed too. The same thing happened to you. Probably the cylinder head too...

@GERfusion yeah it's a good way to get a fresh look. The colour is renault extreme blue. When picking your colour, go a shade lighter as it will come out darker due to not having the clear coating on top.

Great video.. reason why my truck over heated was because the radiator was absolutely covered in mud. There was no way for the radiator to breathe check your radiator if you go in muddy places we all learnt a lesson that afternoon. Truck is back home and is healthy:)
