Indeed, that sounds like a near miss to a very dangerous situation. Please make sure you have the means to indicate your exact position to rescuers and let someone know where and when you are going and when you should be back home. If you choose to hike trails with little or no elevation gain, we will enjoy watching your videos just as much 🙂 !

Good job on pushing through and making the climb. If mountain hiking is no longer enjoyable, then choose to do what makes you happy 🙂. I look forward to watching any videos you choose to share!

Thanks. Just playing the climbs by ear right now. Being out of shape doesn't help, so I'm hoping maybe if I improve that, then the climbs will be better.

I enjoyed the series 🙂. I see the leaves now look about the same as here. We had a couple of windy days and now the majority are on the ground. Those left on the trees are very pale or brown.

Thank you! We've had a few good wind storms that have stripped many of the trees, the rest are brown.

Nice view of the trees. Thanks. Do you have seasonal allergies ? I have found that as I get older when I spend extended time outdoors, grass and tree pollen, dust from dropping leaves, dust from bare earth sometimes give me severe sinus headaches and fatigue.
@MelissaL2 ай бұрын
There is still some decent color out there, but it's fading fast! No allergies or sleep apnea that I'm aware of. I think I clench my jaw at night and have exertion headaches.

There are some nice pops of color here and there. There's also been a lot of early browning, and leaf drop because of the high winds yesterday.

Thanks for the ride ! In my area the fall process has already begun but promises a subdued display. The summer drought and heat wave have stressed the trees and caused most to skip bright colors and have already dropped yellow and brown leaves ☹️
@MelissaL3 ай бұрын
It's been the same here, too. There are some good pops of color but a lot of trees besides the swamp maples are dropping leaves. Still, tons of leaf peepers around!

Another channel I watch is Wiltshire Man. He makes videos on several subjects. But his motorcycle ride videos are really worth watching. His latest is Riding With The Vintage Boys. He often rides with groups of vintage riders. He lives in England and in this video the lead motorcycle is a 1960 AJS with a 84 year old rider.

That was really a beautiful ride along the dirt roads. There seemed to be quite a few houses along those roads. Is it difficult to get in and out of those areas once the winter snows hit? I bet to live along the back roads would be a peaceful experience 😊 Thanks for the video!
@MelissaL4 ай бұрын
Thanks. It does tend to be difficult to access those dirt roads during winter, especially the narrow ones. Some of them are closed in sections where no one lives so the town doesn't have to maintain them.
@jgbsweeper73254 ай бұрын
Thanks for the ride alongs! Ha Ha, I too share your opinion of snow. I see it as giant buckets of white paint that has been spilled over everything and desperately needs to be cleaned up!

The views from the top were wonderful. I agree that on a clear day they would be even better. Maybe find some trails with no elevation to build up your stamina. Thanks for the video !
@MelissaL5 ай бұрын
Definitely would be better on a clear day. That's probably a better idea, if I start with no or less elevation! I also realized after I got home that I could have bagged another Ossipee 10 peak while I was up there, but it's good that I didn't push myself any further.

I'm curious. I ride a Super Tenere and have put on three sets of Battleax Tires. I'm nearing 60,000 miles on the bike. When I got my last set, my model of Battleax no longer came in a radial tire. So, I went with the same make but not radial. And I really don't like them. They are NOISY. I just finished a 2100 mile trip and I guess they worked fine but I'm curious.. did you go from a radial to nonradial tire? Also on the helmets, for about five years I've used an HJC full face modular helmet. I love it. And I just added one of the "stop lights" to the rear that is activated by acceleratometers so that when you down shift it comes on. I was concerned about the added weight, but its been perfect. Stay safe. Let me know if you're still on radials.
@MelissaL5 ай бұрын
Hi Richard, thanks for subscribing! My original Metzelers were radial, these new Battlax are also radial. They are definitely noisy!! I'll be trying something else next year. Regarding the helmet brake light, is it a Brake Free?
@richardmourdock27195 ай бұрын
@@MelissaL Yes, the Brake Free. I love it. I had a fellow motorcyclist following me through a Chicago traffic jam that last 45 minutes in 92 degrees. He said the light was better than just a brake light on the bike because it was higher and more visible. A good test of the brake light but I hope to never go through such traffic again!. Noisy radial tires, that is a new one. Ride safe. BTW, I'm 73 and never rode a motorcycle until I was 58. In retirement, motorcycle travel keeps me sane!

I need tires on my 2023 NC750x only 4000 miles original Dunlaps. I’m trying to make it to end of season because I can’t afford shop fees. Labor costs more than the tires in NE Ohio. I have to learn to take wheels off myself this winter
@MelissaL5 ай бұрын
That would be a really great skill to learn! The cost of tires and labor is horrible. I wanted to wait to end of season too but mine were way overdue and probably not the safest.

Is this a good jacket for hot summer days? Like 90 degree days? I'm debating between this and the Revit! spark air but like this design much more.
@MelissaL6 ай бұрын
I don't think it would be good for temperatures that hot. I switch over to my mesh jacket when the temps get over 60. That being said, I really like the Parabolica.
@Pfeiffer-fp2se6 ай бұрын
@@MelissaL so you use the parabolica when its 60 F and under? does it really keep you that warm?

@@Pfeiffer-fp2se I try to not ride below 60 F...that should say I switch over to my mesh jacket around 65 F. I wear a long sleeve thermal shirt and sometimes even a thin zippered sweatshirt under the Parabolica if it's really chilly.
