Most of our trails are in the "Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails" by Charles A. Wells. We also use his books for Arizona and Moab.

If you're still in the area, Slaughterhouse Gulch is fun and open. Also a bit further north Kelly Flats just opened as well. Both fun trails and should be more than doable in the pair of Jeeps in the video.

Hi Dick, glad you enjoy the videos. It's been cool here. That high temp down there is why we come back to our home in Colorado Springs.

Not exactly 4x4 driving unless there has been a lot of rain. A lot of GC White Water rafting companies tow trailers with 13 passenger vans full of guides and 2 wheel drive out of there 5 months of the year. The Hualapai run school busses down there every day for their 'Diamond Creek Down' trips. It is pretty cool to be in the GC though!

Beautiful scenery and a cool trail! How are you keeping the horizon straight, though? Are you using a gimbal in the Jeep? The perspective you portray gives a great visual of the degree of roll you are encountering on the trail.

@HappyTrailsToYouАй бұрын
This trail is not posted. Connie and I made it up years ago while geocaching. We have 20 waypoints to follow, so to many to list here. Basic route I-17 to exit 244. Work your way over to Lisa road to start dirt road at 34*05.568 & 112*09.243 The end of trail is at the upper end of Terminator trail 34*02.120 & 112*11.596 at the Tip Top Mine trail. We named it BlackTop form BLACK canyon city and tip TOP mine trail. If you use Goodle Earth you can make a route over the hills to connect these waypoints.

Our Happy Trails 4-Wheel Club is based in Happy Trails RV Park, in Surprise, Arizona.

How do you join the club. 1999 jeep tj and looking for a group to travel with.
@HappyTrailsToYouАй бұрын
@@phillipbentz5325 One of the requirements for membership is you must own or be a renter in Happy Trails RV Park. It was designed this way to keep the membership under control. We usually have about 40-45 families in the club each season. Thank goodness they all don't go on each ride. 10-15 Jeeps per ride is about the usual. Thank you for your interest.

Hello I just sent a request to join your Facebook page. I just bought a red Sahara 2015 and it has the Happy Trails 4 wheel drive club sticker on it. Wondering if it was part of your group. Thanks.
@HappyTrailsToYou2 ай бұрын
Good morning, Our Facebook page is limited to members only. I don't know who owned your Jeep but it must have been a member of our club. Only members can buy our stickers. To join our club you must live in Happy Trails RV Resort. After two seasons at the resort you may remain in the club if you move away, with a vote of the club. We have about 40-45 members (families) in our club each year. Have fun in your new Jeep and be safe, never go alone. See you out on the trails. Sam

Beautiful drive. Was there a permit or anything needed to do this trail?
@HappyTrailsToYou2 ай бұрын
Yes, you must buy a permit in Peach Springs at the lodge. I believe they were $26 dollars. The Hualapai Indian tribe does check every vehicle on the way down for the permit. This trail is on their land.
@Brwnbear19852 ай бұрын
@@HappyTrailsToYou thanks for the info, other than permit. There's no schedule? Waiting list
@HappyTrailsToYou2 ай бұрын
@@Brwnbear1985 There was no waiting list, but we were advised that rafting companies use this road to the beach to upload their rafts. So sometimes the road is closed if there are a lot of people using the road. I would suggest calling the lodge and verify the date, cost, etc. Hualapai Lodge - 900 Route 66 Peach Springs, AZ (928) 769-2230

are visitors welcome to tag along on some of your trail rides?
@HappyTrailsToYou5 ай бұрын
Our club is restricted to residents of Happy Trails RV resort. Guests are allowed if the club member has wheeled with their guest on a similar trail and can verify the guest and their Jeep can do the trail. We have about 45 members each year so we do restrict the membership just so the trail rides don't have to many jeeps. I would say the average is 10 to 15 jeeps on any ride. Members can have guests riding with them any time.
