PEACH SPRINGS AZ RALLY "4-WHEELING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GRAND CANYON" FEB. 18, 2028

Our Happy Trails 4-Wheel Club travelled to Chloride and Peach Springs AZ. for a 3 day rally. The first day we spent time in Chloride and was entertained with a gun fight and then we had lunch at Yesterday's Steak House. After we travelled up the Chloride Mines trail to view the Roy Purcell murals.
On the second day we drove to Peach Springs to obtain our permits to drive to the bottom of the Grand Canyon on Diamond Creek Road, which is on the Hualapai Indian Reservation.
The last day we intended to drive the Moss Wash trail but was blocked by Ice and snow. We did drive some side roads that were scenic.
There are a lot of interesting places to visit in the Chloride & Peace Springs area. Don't miss the Keepers of the Wild Animal Sanctuary.

Not exactly 4x4 driving unless there has been a lot of rain. A lot of GC White Water rafting companies tow trailers with 13 passenger vans full of guides and 2 wheel drive out of there 5 months of the year. The Hualapai run school busses down there every day for their 'Diamond Creek Down' trips. It is pretty cool to be in the GC though!

Beautiful drive. Was there a permit or anything needed to do this trail?

Yes, you must buy a permit in Peach Springs at the lodge. I believe they were $26 dollars. The Hualapai Indian tribe does check every vehicle on the way down for the permit. This trail is on their land.

@@Brwnbear1985 There was no waiting list, but we were advised that rafting companies use this road to the beach to upload their rafts. So sometimes the road is closed if there are a lot of people using the road. I would suggest calling the lodge and verify the date, cost, etc. Hualapai Lodge - 900 Route 66 Peach Springs, AZ [phone]

I forgot to mention the road (trail) going down to the Colorado River is Diamond Creek Road. @@Brwnbear1985
