Yes and no, I find the cardboard ones you can buy from mitre10 quite handy, but I also use cottonwool buds covered in vasoline.

Neat Spot Bro Beautiful river , so good to see those Eels 👍
@bogansguidetotheworld2 күн бұрын
It's a beautiful spot to forget about the cares of the world. First time seeing not one 1 eel, but at least 6 of them. I've been trying to protect them from people fishing, to try and keep numbers rising. It's paid off by the looks of it.

Where did you get your chair and table bro? Cheers jas
@bogansguidetotheworld2 күн бұрын
Hey, the table was from Temu - Search aluminum folding camp table. Theres so many options available, but the chair was a new addition from intents outdoors. But again, you can search for alternatives on Temu for quite good value, that's where I brought my last camp chair.
@phillipbuchan91802 күн бұрын
@@bogansguidetotheworldYeah I am interested in getting a table like that too. Temu is probably cheaper but there are places in NZ selling them (Mighty Ape for sure, and I think Bunnings has a larger one). I've read mixed reviews so please may I ask... how long have you had yours and what do you think of it? (Heck, you could probably make a gear review video about it.) Great vid too man, I enjoyed it.

Just subbed jamie. Do you use flint and steel?
@bogansguidetotheworld2 күн бұрын
Yes, I use to teach bushcraft skills for children, and I promoted the use of primitive fire methods like the humble flint fire starter.

If you gather enough of them, you can put them in a water bottle, shake em round with some water and you have kawakawa juice.

Can this be used on any type of camping stove like a Coleman 2 burner stove? Or is this only compatible with Winnerwell’s tent stove?
@bogansguidetotheworld12 күн бұрын
Yeah mate it can fit on top of any wood stove as long as theres room for it, and as long as the dimensions are the same or bigger. Because it has a mesh bottom it just converts the unused upwards heat from the top of the wood stove. But it cant be used on gas stoves like the colman, as that is not residule heat. You could maybe remove the mesh layer and that could work?

There's about 3 varieties. Neurotoxic. After December, honey bees gather the vine hopper excretion, and honey 🍯can becomes toxic. General only found in rural regions, like the Coromandel.

New Sub... As a fellow New Zealander I find your stories fascinating! I've been in the St James Theater and have felt somewhat uneasy during times when alone. IDK how to describe the feeling, but it is ominous! I am someone that really believes in the afterlife. Thank you for this video. I look forward to more.

Bro, nahhh I stumbled upon this video at 3:20am and i'm staying on the same block as the old st. James. Even if there are no records of the supposed people, theres still the fact it was built on a graveyard. Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing this!

And a parking brake, yes a parking brake for when you stop on a hill and stay seated to take a drink or a photo and the machine wants to roll down hill. I use a piece of velcro around the brake lever. On my gas bike i just hold down the foot brake lever.

Bro, sorry to be a knob/pedant but I think the onion weed we have loads of here in New Zealand, and which you show in this vid, is called Allium triquetrum, not Asphodelus fistuswhatever you said it was. Love your channel though... I only tried eating the hounds tongue fern for the first time a few months ago after seeing you mention it (I did some other research 😅)... I had seen it for decades in the bush but never thought it might be edible.
@bogansguidetotheworldАй бұрын
No youre absolutely right, sorry about that. Even bogans have there bad days, Yes the onion weed is called Allium Triquetrum, I try not to include many latin names because of this problem. However I always try to encourage everyone to do their own research before eating anything wild. And Make sure you down load the aotearoa species identification app for more help identifying plants. Cheers for watching :)
