Could someone take the result of the combined alcohol and water extract jars and boil them down until it's a fine paste and then mix it in a tea? I'm looking for a method to consume one dried pound of cubes because the last time I tried, I just did a water extract and added tea and sweetener and it was the worst thing I've ever tasted, not to mention just how much liquid of the horrible taste there was to consume.

An easy way to fill is a small vynal line and siphon. I set the bottles in a plastic tray and hold the bottle low until almost full then raise it up when full, remove hose and switch bottles. Just set the jar of medicine up a little higher than your tray. I do know you guys use that confection funnel thingy but I don't have one of those yet.

Wouldn't the heat required to vaporize your solvent destroy the beta glucans if it reached above 180 F? A soxhlet extraction didn't seem like a good idea to me for that very reason, too much heat. Sadly, a rotary evaporator is out of a lot of people's budget, but that is my preferred way of concentrating a tincture. Soak in ethanol for a month, filter out the mushroom material and use it for a hot water extraction to get the beta glucans, then combine the water and alcohol and concentrate it by gently removing the solvent in a pressure reduced rotary evaporation. Uses way way way less heat and doesn't destroy any triterpenes. If a rotary evaporator is out of your budget, you can do a simple distillation under reduced pressure instead. Distillation sets run for around $50 from China and all you need is a couple cheap diaphragm pumps ran in parallel and BAM! concentrated mushroom extract.

Nice one, I didn't know this channel directly addressed psilocybin :) I'm surprised it is not documented that the lemon tek pre dephosphorylates psilocybin into psilocin, I thought it was a known fact. But then again if that wasn't the case, why the faster come up and harder hitting effect? It is my understanding that because most of the psilocybin is already hydrolysed into psilocin in lemon tek, it doesn't need to take place in the digestive system, which is what is "saving" time and boosting the come up. This is also a side effect of making tinctures, sometimes wanted, at the cost of a shorter shelf life.. heat and water will do that.

I’m a nurse and I haven’t heard of Trichoderma infecting people. It looks like the same stuff that grows on a cup of coffee if you forget it in the basement. I wash those out and I don’t worry about becoming infected. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had always heard (in my short growing experience) that if you had any trichaderma, then the tub needed to be disposed of. I’m glad to know that there might be a way to save the tub even if there is some contamination.

You shouldn't get hung up with the lower PSI of the Instant Pot. The Instant Pot is Not a Pressure Cooker... It is actually an autoclave. (This is why it doesn't hiss constantly. It builds up pressure and holds it.) Experiments done at Dakota State University in South Dakota have shown the Instant Pot can kill heat-resistant bacteria better than a standard pressure cooker. Tests have also shown that the Instant Pot brand had the best build quality and their test results don't always apply to other similar pots.

I use a spoon and sifter to get all the liquid out. What a waste.
