Hate it when people say about modular ‘You’re only limited by your imagination!’ You’re not. You’re limited by the design and hardware of the modules you have to hand.

The speakers are placed where they are because it tilts the speaker towards your head so that you get a better sound personally and also to enhance that sound, you should have your back against the wall that way you get a fuller sound and the audio would bounce off the wall as well.

If I spend 1/2 the price on a more capable piece of equipment, and I sit down to it w/ a feeling of ambivalence, what’s the point? Sitting down to a Push 3 Standalone (fed into an SP404 Mk 2 for a little crunch and easy mixdown) is a luxury. It’s the least amount of bullshit between me and the sound. And that is priceless.

I agree it’s an unnecessary extra these days. Headphones or mini monitors via 1/4 much better option. While Looking into a used Live II with speakers blown, noticed they tend to blow out and MPC Stuff only place to get fitted replacements- unless you find an upgrade and mod the install. And it’s minor PIA to replace them. Never been a fan of speakers in gear. Like some Sony TV’s used to have full blown stereo systems with subs and they sounded amazing. This is not that. 😄 Then they took speaks off TV’s altogether, because they suck. 😁

This doesn’t account for how horrible the MPC software is without a dedicated controller, the any old cheap midi controller is not the same at all. A second hand One is likely the best option these days. Hopefully when the update the computer software to v3 they will make it like standard software with multi select files, select all etc…

Honestly..its so a pain in the ass to finish a real good music on what so ever hardware standalone, because you will need extra synth sounds and other things that all those major standalone machines doesnt have it all.....or....to do that you have to spend huge money into plugins and expansions.....plus...the arranger matrix / grid is way limited

I have the Live and then bought the live 2 and haven't regret it. I think you had expectations that they were gonna be studio monitor quality in that small of a space. I love the built in option to listen to your beats and it is not much bigger than the live. And my dell laptop is pretty good for listening to music as well. Tiny speakers aren't gonna have full range but as long as the range that they do produce is good that is what matters. The Live 2 isn't that much bigger to say the placement is a waste of space and I'm glad it is built in. Who wants a deatchable speaker that makes it less sturdy when you can buy any speaker you want to attach to it. You seem to be a pessimistic person IMO.

This plugin was originally made by Way Out Ware and was called the TimewARP 2600. It was launched mid 2006 and was distributed by M-Audio. The presets were (mostly) dreadful and to say it was unstable was an understatement! Arturia’s ARP2600V was more widely adopted and Way Out Ware vanished without a trace. They also made an ARP Axxe clone as well, if I remember correctly. To be honest, I never thought I’d see this plugin again, but it does seem quite an improvement upon its initial release 18 years ago. It’s just bad timing that Korg have recently launched their official ARP 2600 plugin a few weeks ago!

I doubt that this will happen. All standalone plugins have multiple panels, because a single one would not fit onto the small screen and/or it would be fiddly at best. Here we have the additional cable problem. How do you want to do this with multiple panels. And with one panel, you're fingers are to big to hit the desired jacks.

Gotcha gotcha....I thought you were referring to the analog version. I haven't listened to the virtual Korg collection. Maybe I should do a comparison! Not having listened to the Korg, this Air plugin will (most likely) be available in standalone mode. And that's what particularly great about these plugins (all the Air plugins - Jura, Odyssey, OPX, etc.) - is that you aren't stuck just being able to use them in the box.
