Wtf is marauder? A bunch of scripts to escape learning aircrack commands? Just buy a pocket wifi router for openwrt. It has better antenna, it is way less power hungry and offers all the packages you could possibly need. This right here, along with pwnagotchi and that dolphin thingy, is a bunch of poorly designed tools that make a lot of mistakes, and indirectly forces user to make even more.
@Hedge-Tech-9514 сағат бұрын
I mean, you can always go deeper… Imagine using aircrack commands. Write your own framework and tools. That’s how you sound. Marauder is using open source tools that were written for the ESP32 platform and executes them from an OPTIONAL UI. If this is a “bunch of scripts” it’s the same thing as using aircrack commands. That too is just a bunch of scripts in the end. Introduce people into the world and the more they’re interested, the more they’ll seek out. No one claims this is the best tool, but it is effective. These devices are the most searched in this space whether you like it or not. So we will continue to make videos for beginners and people that want to build these devices.
@ФеофанЭтополедолжнобытьзаполне13 сағат бұрын
@@Hedge-Tech-95 Aircrack is a framework already. With an "optional UI" nontheless. I'm not trying to stop you from making videos, lol. Im just warning users that this right here, building a customized device on a very restricted and at the same time very bloated platform that fits very poorly into the whole wireless world (first of all, hardware-wise), AND also using yet another layer of abstraction which effectively is this "optional UI", is a very bad idea. Now, the whole idea behind yet another layer is to encapsulate a lot of boring stuff. Sure, sometimes it works. But not in case of wifi and not in current state underlaying tools/frameworks are in. There are too many nuances to the whole sniffing/capturing thing that can't be addressed in any automated way (at least outside "real linux" environment). So, again, my advice would be to get a decent wifi-oriented device with a proper wifi-chipset on board and "normal" limux for embeds which supports the essential set of tools (at least aircrack-ng and hcxdumptool). Everything else would be a waste, especially if it requires so much hustle. You'll find out I'm right the moment you finally make it to hashcat 🤭

Oh, sorry I didn't realise it was right at the end! So what's the point of everyone doing the soldering nonsense with other components if they can just do this? For the GPS or is there other functionality they're getting? Like better customisation?
@Hedge-Tech-9527 күн бұрын
If you’re referring to other videos, I think I’m the only one that made a PCB focused on adding a battery to the CYD. I made it with the intention to avoid the need to solder. I get anxiety soldering battery leads lol. If you’re referring to the GPS, you can’t avoid soldering that because you buy the modules without a wire, you must solder wires to it to connect to my board (or anything for that matter) Adding GPS adds the ability to war drive with the device!
@ConstructSC27 күн бұрын
@@Hedge-Tech-95 ah okay, so in most video when they talk about soldering, they'll mainly be adding a GPS? What extra functionality does that add and can you use the WiFi and Bluetooth functions without it?
@Hedge-Tech-9527 күн бұрын
Most add a battery too. You can avoid that with a custom PCB though which was my main objective with this build. I think that’s where the most value is because I feel like most people want it to be a stand alone device but soldering a battery turns off a lot of people. All the other features stay the same with GPS, it really only adds the ability to wardrive when you add the GPS. It’s definitely a nice to have, but not necessary for the other 95% of features
