Nice train video. How long did it take you to edit this train video?
@raildogproductions22 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching Elliott! This one took about 10 hours of color grading, audio editing, and then editing the video. Once I have an edit complete, I watch it on my projection screen in 4k to check the edit and then make corrections and repeat the process. This was a fun one to edit as we got some cool shots in the snow.

Ouch! I edited this video when we had a 104 heat index here in Milwaukee. I have another video on my channel from Elm Grove after an 18" snow storm which took out most of the power in the village and got to -2° out. Thanks for watching!
@wattheheck6010Ай бұрын
My two truisms, generally speaking: 1. Anyplace from the air looks beautiful (war zones excepted). 2. Anyplace blanketed in fresh snow is peaceful. Great video! Thanks for posting.
@raildogproductionsАй бұрын
I agree with both of your statements! Its a little risky to fly a drone in a snow storm but it was worth the images. Take a look at my snow video on my channel from the Village of Elm Grove after 18" of snow. The temperature dropped the next day to 10° then the next day -5° which froze all the snow on everything for days.

That is the audio from that train recorded from a distance on the ground. There was some kind of inference from the drone controller that messed with it. There are much better sounding videos on my channel especially the ones that are recorded with the stereo pair of microphones.

that's is cool. I have caught this before but not with only one Amtrak engine
@crabbymilton3902 ай бұрын
These new CHARGERS seem to be real lemons. Also, why does an AMTRAK need two engines anyway?
@alexlorenz41032 ай бұрын
The Empire Builder splits at a certain point, so 2 locomotives are needed.
@crabbymilton3902 ай бұрын
@@alexlorenz4103 Well if both engines are at the front, I guess I’m missing something here.
@alexlorenz41032 ай бұрын
@crabbymilton390 I believe it's Spokane, WA, where the train splits going east and meets into 1 train going west. 1 half of the train has the dining car and the other has the Sightseer lounge. Maybe in this situation, they took off one of the Chargers at the Spokane meet and added the BNSF locomotive.
@crabbymilton3902 ай бұрын
@@alexlorenz4103 That makes sense. I figured one locomotive was more than ample as far as power was concerned so there had to be a reason for 2.
@IowaGrandpaTrain2 ай бұрын
I think the Builder needs 2 locomotives to crest the Rockies. Even if it doesn’t, there is a lot of territory (500 miles) between Havre Montana and Spokane WA where there are no reserve locos available if a single unit would fail.

They really cant get the hang of those Charger Locomotives. Just recently the City Of New Orleans had a northbound train that was being pulled by 2 Chargers. Both suffered a fatal electrical issue leaving both of them useless. They had to be rescued by a former Illinois Central locomotive. Leaving the train to be 8 hours late.
