Tengo ese mismo mando (control) pero no enciende el display pero si funciona los botones. No se si solo funciona el display conectándolo al reproductor o hay que hacer algo más al control de mando

This was one of my favorite toys from age 5 to 7, then it got lost when we moved house. I didn’t remember what it was called but today I started googling “yellow electronic music toy 1980s” and got to your video. The wave of nostalgia when I heard you start it up was wonderful. Higher and lower was my favorite game.

Dude! En-vy! You scored big time! I got my mz-r35 (just the thing) for 25€, two new batteries (18€), charger (1€) and remote phones(12€). I´d like to advise about the original Sony chargers: they used to put out too high voltage. The thing needs 6 and Sony gave ´em 9. I found a Philips SBC 6608/00 charger that puts out exact 6volts and has the right plug. Just look for any 6vdc charger and adapt the plug. When I had the 35 in the 90´s it used to get warm while plugged in- I never liked that. Now it stays nice and cool, even whilst running being plugged in. Have a good time, I know I´m late to the party but had the urge to say something like "You lucky MoFo!"

As of December 2023, Osaka Sofmap was but very slim pickings. Most 2nd has gone online, it seems. I’m in Tokyo in June so I’ll do an update.

@@Sebrewer32 Unfortunately COVID moved a lot of 2nd hand instrument stuff online. This video was shot in December 2019, and I’ve been back in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Shimamura Music in Umeda and Amemura, and google ‘synth shops I. Osaka’ for more options.

How could you possibly make any difference to scratchy pots? The dust got INSIDE the pot and it's firmly stuck between the conductive surfaces. I have NEVER, not even once had any degree of success with brushes or vacuum cleaner. I always had to take it apart and use a thin straw to spray in 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. Then you turn the potentiometer vigorously full on to full off20-30 times. Then repeat the procedure once more. Allow the alcohol to evaporate naturally then try the pot after connecting to power. Note that it has to be 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. Alcohols are typically dielectric (meaning they don't conduct electricity), but 99% Isopropyl will not leave any kind of residue behind. After that you may want to use a special lubricating compound (forgot the name) on the pot. Yes, it's even more work but it will pay off.

Luckily no scratchy pots.

I've been interested in writing microtonal music and have struggled with getting my two keyboards to play on different instruments. Your method is the most straight-forward and thorough of all the videos I've watched, and it works! Thank you for this video and for knowing what you're talking about!

Thanks for that review and congrats on your purchase. I actually have one from way back in 94-95. Unfortunately for me, my power supply has gone dead and using alternative units like the one on your clip have not brought it back to life.... I do have 2 batteries and I'm attempting to charge them using a modular video cam battery charging base adapter that uses a micro USB cable for power. I hope this works as I'm really very fond of my M11. Was the best thing out there before MP3 and made my 22 hour trips to and from the US much easier😊....

I have that model but it is no longer working, hence me watching this video. I'm going to have a go at repairing it. It came with a different remote, kind of an oval flat thing from memory. I used to be a DJ and used to just plug my diskman into the mixer and record live sets. I have a box of big name DJ live sets recordings on MD from around 99-2002 which I would love to hear again

Amazing, i can't thank you enough for this, but cheekily i wonder if you know if this scenario is possible, could you allow one midi controller to control all external midi synth modules (which is the default), but then choose which specific ones the second midi controller can control as well? rather than having to assign either/or both to each track in Logic 9? Many thanks

another point in favour of Eos is that its fantastic for teaching. Other desks and software can be very intimidating for beginners. ETC do an outstanding job with the amount of control you have over your user interface which is perfect for teaching the basics to students.
