Good job, but I guess there is an oil pressure indication which is simple as easy. The liquid filled gauge is a plus, but I guess in the name of science it's always informative, but just for the sake of the gauge going bust due to the vicinity of the exhaust and the glass cracking... that's for another day.

Maybe the cam chain is too tight now what causes the idle regulater of the ecu to make the idle so unstaple? Try not to just richen up the fueling and double check the cam chain tensioner. Also a idle reset just works when a ktm mechanic resets all the parameters of your ecu which does not work with just unplugging the battery
@RhoadsChristopherАй бұрын
@oom_701 idle reset is not just a KTM thing. Many manufacturers have this as a feature. Yes, the fueling was likely effected by adjusting the timing chain tensioner. Especially my setup as I have longer duration cams. I found that a little fuel helps a fair amount with having a more stable idle.

Hi bro, I have been watching all your videos and I have a doubt regarding to the manual timing chain tensioner, how many Newton meter did you give to find the right tension? thank you for replying soon. I am a subscriber, I have RC390 with all the toys added already.
@RhoadsChristopherАй бұрын
@bekenvower i can see the hesitation. I assume you've seen the original video I put out a while ago. To answer your question. There is not a torque rating for the tensioner part itself. That would be difficult to do as chains will vary based on how old they are and ware. The method I have found to work best and best on the instructions is to finger tighten until you can't. Then, rotate the engine and give it a few more turns as the engine rotates. At the end, you loosen it by 1/4 of a turn. I don't trust KTM tensioners for a lot of reasons and would much rather use a manual unit. If you have more questions, hit me up.

Thanks for the info about the head. Mine is a 2014 production year. I have Mivv exhaust and an opened airbox with K&N insert. Then it has a Rapid Bike Easy to eliminate O2 sensor interference with the map and a Booster Plug that should enrich the mixture 7% in open loop mode. No ignition tuning or anything, so I expect around the stock 45bhp peak, but I can report that the low and mid-range torque and responsiveness are way increased and the bike is a lot more enjoyable to ride as it pulls out of the corners as it should.

KTM is now part owned by Bajaj. Don't go thinking the current Austrian bikes are much better. I think Pierer Mobility has been pushing cost cutting and maximising expansion, rather than letting the engineers "fix" all the issues that their bikes seem to suffer. In fact, they seem to be reintroducing problems that previous models were supposed to have addressed.
