Joni sits atop of the genius mountain along with Dylan, both there lyrics are so deep but yet relatable to average people like myself. Joni’s musical arrangements take it one notch above Dylan. They are both truly amazing and will never be topped. In 1981, I even named my Daughter after Joni, her name is Joni Mitchell La_ 😊

One thing about Beatles concerts - they were very short. They played for thirty minutes, tops. It was the greatest thirty minutes of your life, though.

I recorded this concert on a reel to reel tape directly off the telly from the BBC Television Centre, London, UK / Sept. 3, 1970 . The song, 'For Free' stood out for me. Still does.

Joni never went to Woodstock although she wrote the unofficial anthem for the festival. Crosby Stills and Nash did and had a hit with Joni's song.

Many in the audience don't look like 12-14 teens screaming at the Beatles. Was Beatlemania coming to an end in 1966 before they quit live shows?

I'm as much of a Beatles fan as anyone on this thread but I'm not tone deaf and this was NOT a great show! It was not even a good show. It was sloppy and the vocals at times, particularly Georges', were out of tune, at times grossly out of tune...George was have a bad night vocally. If I Needed Someone was downright BAD! Saying that this was a great show is not only totally wrong, it demeans the talent and ability of The Beatles. They were MUCH, MUCH BETTER than this particular show. If Ringo or Paul would comment on this show they would absolutely agree with me. This was not their night!

We all owe Brandi Carlile a huge hug of gratitude, for convincing Joni that we all were missing her terribly, and for bringing her back. Her voice, because what she endured in illness is much lower now and she actually thought that her fans wouldn't like it. Her voices suits her perfectly. It's as as full as a woman who's lived, long loved much and suffered mightily has to be. It's Joni, and her heart and her beautiful words that are timeless. We love you, Joni, welcome back!

Here is a sobering thought . If you see a man or woman in a nursing home about 98 years old they could have been at this concert as a 40 year old.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time - absolutely magical. I’m so glad I found this live version. Joni doesn’t need any studio enhancements - this sounds nearly identical to the original version on her “Blue” LP. Joni Mitchell is a brilliant and rare treasure. I will listen to her music forever.
