Even the album cover was inspired by Les McCann and His Magic Band's: 'The Longer You Wait ' album cover. Dilla 🕊️was definitely a fan of Les McCann 🕊️

Please. F Marx. Anybody who quotes Marx is a ahl. Karl Marxs IDEAS ended 120+ MILLION Lives in the 20th Century. In PEACETIME by Socialism and their fellow Sicialist Citizens. The old fashioned way forced labor, starvation, disease and purges.

Yes the west is crumbling and giving up its freedoms but we as thinking individuals and as defenders of everything the enlightenment had to offer, can continue the fight in our own lives and refuse to cower in fear at the feet of barbaric monotheistic cults such as Islam.

Christopher gone, William f Buckley jr gone. Gore Vidal gone. The landscape is decidedly bare. The world feels it. Particularly comment against these uneducated woke students. I worry about where it’s going. Edit: I did not mean to suggest they shared identical opinions. Only that I respected their opinion on many matters, whether I agreed or not. I was always sure they had given a lot of thought to the topic.

Despite all the good things he says is the passage about David Irving irritating: I researched about Irving then and have to say that he was convicted after a long and legal prozess to be a Holocaust- Leugner. Why is Hitchens defending such an individual?!!

Because he believes in a fundamental right to free speech; He believes that governments do not have the right to limit discussion of historical topics, even when the speaker is lying and incorrect. He does not trust governments.

People go nuts for Jordan Peterson for opposing bill c-16. Look at this man and what was he saying in Canada as English/American way before Jordan Peterson was even aware of what was happening in his own country.

An odd thing to mention. Is the person more important than the subject? I mean who cares...
@dhadad9885

@@ScandinavianHeretic What an incredibly stupid question. Of course the person is more important because without the bravery of the person standing up for free speech, we would not have free speech. Hitchens was a pioneer in observing and detecting subtle decline in western societies and he was the one, the only one, most often to risk everything for the truth. Now tell me how the subject is more important than the person. Moron.

“Don’t take refuge in the false security of consensus.” MASSIVELY important to test how you “know” what you know, and to defend not only your right to speak, but your right to HEAR other opinions and facts that might contradict “common wisdom.” If you lose these rights, you’ve made a rod for your own back. EVERYONE needs to recognize that. I do not delegate to ANYONE control over my capacity to READ, WRITE, and THINK.

How thankful I am to all the great human thinkers - and to having had the privilege of exercising my right to hear all sides, and how much smarter that has made me! How grateful I am to both Adam Smith and Karl Marx, to Moses and Jesus, to the Catholics and the Protestants, to the Latins and the Greeks, to the Traditionalists and the Reformers, to NATO and Varsaw pact, to East and the West, to the right and the left.

The greatest lesson of this video, IMO, is not what Hitch said but rather it demonstrates that knowing what is wrong, and saying so clearly, is no damned use whatsoever. For all the truth of this speech, our govts. have simply slid further and further down the shitty slope of gutless careerism, and done the opposite of what was said here at every turn. ACTION is what is needed, not words.
