It is. It teaches you real fighting while light sparring is just an introduction to sparring. Experienced fighters mostly do hard sparring.

Basics is the bag shouldn’t be swinging if you’re punching right. Bag swing means you’re using your shoulders when you should be using your hips, legs, and back.

Hmmm this scenes keep bothering me..... 1. Why do u even need to grap fully extended arm that didn't reach you.... 2. Ur strength need to be 2/2.5x the one who did just stab (in this moment you even if accident) with straight jab. 3.rd if u wanted to stop that movement without having superior strength u need to push the arm or push it down or side if u wanna nullify any risk of the blade hitting you during the attack and it also gives u more opening to prevent second place/blade swap from hand to hand 😮 (hope this helped you fend off ur attackers, just something I remember from some trainings). But gotta give it Dexter he quite badass even he a series killer cool guy

I dont quite follow this technique, I would appreciate if somebody explained; you want me to step, then pivot out the way, in the same amount of time it takes to throw a straight? Wouldnt it more more sense to dodge using the step, instead, then pivot for better angle to throw punches? The pivot defense, seems to me, can only work if you stepped before the punch was thrown

We don’t turn away from long left hooks because in that instance, you’re doing what your opponent wants you to do. Instead Keep your right guard up and slightly in front of your face so you don’t get strafed across the eyes as blocking a leaping left hook. When you get used to not turning away fire a timed right hand to beat the left hook. Time that right hand and you’ll begin to take away your opponents left hand almost entirely whether he’s trying to throw a hook uppercut or a set up punch.

My only fear would with the pivot and roll is it feels like that chin is up in the air a little. And if you are a noob and you try to pull a pivot a bad distance and timing is goodnight.
