Do not tell me People are Strange was not inspired by this song, everyone in the band The Doors was a big Jazz fan and probably would have known this song.

In-cre-di-ble. The whole fucking solo! And what a tone! Perfect articulation. You're the best to play it on guitar. Bravo!

I love listening to the recordings by Django without Stephane Grapelli because Stephane over powers Django's fine playing.

This has got to be one of the influences on Tom Waits. Not just this guy, but this song. (and on Marc Ribot too, who played with Waits.

After many years, I consider it still as Django’s magnum opus. I sometimes Imagine Charlie Christian following Django after this solo on a jam session, what I’d give to hear such a thing.

I've spent many nights with a professional jazz player who introduced me to Django when I was a teenager. Now I am 50 and he's in his 90s. Man, when he gets on the guitar he still plays with the vigour of youth and also the style of a master.
