Thank you for a great video, the pace was just right for me. I haven't been sewing long and bought a starter machine to see how I got on, luckily I enjoyed and and decided to treat myself to a new machine. My lovely new Brother A150 arrived today 🥰. Can't wait to get started.

I absolutely loved this tutorial... I find it so hard to understand the manuals so this is such a great help... I used to sew a lot now after 25 years I am giving it a go again and just got this machine... I feel like I have to learn all over again but this helped so much

I have just received this machine. I have been playing around with it. I have noticed that when I am sewing decorative stitches or the alphabet and I’m not using my foot control I am not able to adjust the speed of the sewing. Is this right? The speed control slider works fine on the utility stitches without the foot pedal so I don’t think there’s a malfunction with it. I have looked in the manual and I can’t find anything mentioning it in there. Tia

Hi. I have the brother a150. When I unplug the foot control I am not able to control the spread on some of the decorative stitches. However when I plug in the foot control I am. Is this right? It’s a brand new machine.

Nope, none. Just keep her clean in the bobbin area to prevent jamming but that's on every machine.

What are all the types of foots used in this machine 1. Invisible Zipper foot 2. Piping foot 3. Bead attaching foot 4. Ruffler foot 5. Walking foot 6. Non stick foot 7. Open toe foot 8. Quarter inch piecing foot Quarter inch piecing foot with guide. 9. Pintuck foot Any other foots besides these pl let me know. Waiting eagerly for yr reply.
@WeMadeItSewingSustainably3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria, it depends if you bought it on a campaign as I managed to get all those feet as an extra on my sewing machine as it only came with 4. Each store is different but the base is the 1, 2, 7 and I am not confident about the 4th but it was definitely 4.

@WeMadeItSewingSustainably3 жыл бұрын
No. Only a book, if you're asking if I got a CD with the BrotherA150. That's why I created the video, I am busy and don't have time to read their book so we filmed this set up tute as Brother doesn't have this kind of content.
@mariapereira96073 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your prompt reply. I hv difficulties as I hv switched on from a different machine to this machine. Like I had thru change the foots with screwdriver now just lower the pressure foot and it's done. Now several types of changes are there so it takes time ro settle with this machine and as you said we are so busy that we hv no time to read the book. The other day the the shuttle came out I did not know what to do I had to do. open the utube to each. But I feel they should give free demonstrations for people who are using this machine for the first time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this lovely introduction video to the A150 sewing machine. It's highly appreciated and a lot better to understand than the manual 😃 Now I only need to figure out why my stitches don't look clean and the tension is hardly right. Maybe our old sewing machines are not that picky if it comes to the threads I'm using.. Any idea?
@WeMadeItSewingSustainably3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. You have to make sure the top tension is set right, that's the key piece of the puzzle on the stitch length. Also keep your bobbin clean, it makes a huge difference.

That bobbin winding doodad (#3) is technically called a Bobbin winding thread guide and pretensioning disc. Thats too many words for such a small thing lol! I call it a tensioning disc or tension disc or bobbin tension disc, depending on how lazy i’m feeling 👍🏼 And.. that button in the bottom right of the keypad, two up, two in. The one with the circular arrow. It locks all the keys and buttons. I suspect so you don’t accidentally sew over your finger while you’re changing a needle or similar. You’re supposed to press it before you change your needle or your bobbin, then press it again to unlock it all. One of those safety features that no one would be bothered with, like me for example 🤪

This is such a wonderful video! My 150 is arriving tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited! I've been battling with my trusty very old Brother innovis 15 that I lent to the school where I teach and it came back totally messed up! Stitch regulator gone, bobbins won't wind and feed dogs slip down in the middle of sewing! Tomorrow is going to be a lovely day! You are a great teacher! Thank you!

Can the feed dogs on this machine be lowered to do free motion sewing?
@WeMadeItSewingSustainably4 жыл бұрын
Yes it does, there is a slide button at the back of the machine that allows you to set the feed dogs down. they don't pop back up when you slide the button back to the original position but it does seem to click back into place - being in the up position, once you start sewing.
