Hey, when you get a chance I am the Swift County Park Supervisor for Appleton OHV Park and would love to share photos and videos you have out in the park if you're willing to share them! We are looking at purchasing 250 more acres and developing 130 of them into more truck/jeep OHV trails and obstacles.

The Appleton OHV park requires MN DNR registration. It's a 3-year tag and it's like $15.

Hi, like how you wiring discussion. I purchased one of your behind-the back-seat ARB compressor mounts and I am using it for a single ARB compressor. The wiring for the switch connections have me confused. I understand how you explained the switch connections, except the power out (3); what does it connect to? Dale
@BorealisOffroad
@BorealisOffroad Жыл бұрын
Hello! Let me try to explain: The 3 out of the switch needs to be connected to the red wire on the top half of the "Plug-in Fitting" in ARB's wiring diagram. On the bottom half of the "Plug-in Fitting", this comes out as a purple wire that goes into Plug 2 shown at the compressor in the diagram. Diagram: arbusa.com/site/wp-content/webp-express/webp-images/uploads/Wiring-Diagram-1400x1536.jpg.webp I hope that helps!

Looks like a lot of fun. I wanted to get out that way(i live in central MN and have family near Appleton) but i'm pretty new to the offroad scene(outside of deer hunting trails) and haven't gotten much of a reception from the jeep crowd...

appletons a fun little park. The jeep crowd is kinda funny....i've been in jeeps for 15 years and been in a few clubs but still don't fit in exactly. Most times I just go to Appleton or Gilbert alone. You'd be suprised what you learn by doing things alone.

Great video. Very helpful. We are driving down to Moab this weekend (MLK holiday 2023) to run this trail and Elephant Hill. KZbin is such a great scouting tool. I liken it to the old B&W film reels we used to watch in the locker room in high school of the other team's last game while trying to discover any weakness or insight that would benefit us on game day. See you on the trail.

@@BorealisOffroadso you used a butt connector to crimp the 8 guage black to a 10 guage black wire? Thank you for the response
@BorealisOffroad
@BorealisOffroad Жыл бұрын
@@juans9713 I misspoke in the video. The two power wires (after the ARB fuse) and one ground wire from the battery to compressor are all 8 gauge wires that I added. I spliced the 10 to 8 gauge wires together using butt connectors with set screws. I found the connectors locally but they're available on Amazon here: a.co/d/cL7MwSG Let me know if there's any other questions and thanks for watching.

Hey paul did you make a wiring video? I'm intrested in wiring it to 12v cigarette lighter..
@BorealisOffroad
@BorealisOffroad 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe! I haven't made a wiring video yet but I'll add to my list. As for powering off of the lighter socket, the CKMTA12 compressor draws around 50 amps under load with a max load closer to 70 amps. The 12v auxiliary power outlet (cigarette lighter) does not provide sufficient power for the compressor. I recommend wiring the compressor directly to the battery and if you want the compressor to not have power when the vehicle is off, you could use a relay with the 12v outlet as the trigger. Make sure to consider the distance of wiring from the battery to the compressor. I used two 8 gauge wires for power and one 8 gauge for ground. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
