You also don't need to be close to the fireteam member for it to proc on kill. They can get a kill and then walk into range of you after the fact and it still works. Also, it's very thematic to the gun itself because the Slayer Barons were basically like the Fireteams of Riis's Eliksni.

I don't know why people are talking about this gun like its somehow unusable. It can match and even out dps fourth horseman and is simultaneously more ammo efficient. Great for champions, far above average for ad clear (as shotguns go), can very effectively utilize volatile rounds for everything except stunning (which is fine since an intrinsic stun is better), and is the only void exotic in the game that can get repulsor brace. Even without these glitches (and tbh the void breach thing just seems like a hidden bonus), you can self proc and even reproc the perk just by positioning a single ad behind or near a boss while you're shooting it.
