I made a video on a mostly AFK/auto kill farm for tonics. I've killed over 200k mobs and well over half of that is with tonics active. I think specifically the new two tonics are bugged. I.E. Scavengers Fate and Noxious. I don't think the game has any way of telling which tonic you used as the recipe after it's crafted and I have had no issues with liturgy or chroma even with elders tonics.

I just tested this (briefly) by taking a Bitter/Sweet tonic & running a 50 wave Onslaught. According to the reddit post I should have been dropping Noxious Vetivers but I dropped 4 Bitter/Sweets & 0 Noxious Vetivers. Hardly conclusive testing by any means but it doesn't look great for the dude's theory. It's worth noting that the tonic actually states that it boosts drop rates for the named weapon AND just Revenant weapons in general.

That's just a bad case of the womp womps. I've been using tonics farming for a 5/5 pve Chroma Rush and have gotten mostly Chromas with my Onslaught Chroma Rush tonics (not 5/5 yet, sadly - going for Sub/KT and personal choices on the barrel/mag/MW).

I’d say no tonics are working properly (or at least “well”) right now. Half of the time, you’ll get a different weapon to that which you’re focusing. The rest of the time, they seem to still have the perk weighting issue, with certain rolls never dropping. Farmed Dul Incaru for 3 days trying to get a specific Vantage Point, only to have completely wasted my time. Another thing I noticed with doing so is that they do appear to have some kind of cool-down, because after a certain period of time, I would get no further drops for at least 15-20 mins. They should bring back crafting for seasonal stuff really.

Make 4 green tonics, and you will unlock a blue tonic, make 5 blue tonics will unlock a legendary tonic. If there are more than one tonic in a rariity, keep making the tonic of previous tonic, usually unlocks per 5 making of tonic. Usually you unlock the tonic on the left first, so you can somewhat tell how many tonics there are for each rarity.

Spend on green ones first, then blue ones. The blue ones unlock purple ones. If you have seven purples then t you will need six blue tonics to unlock each purple tonic, 3 will be of one type of blue and the other 4 from the other type of blue tonic. This way you will know how much of each ingredient you need.

I was using the bitter/sweet tonic and the tooltip said ignition code when I missed over it. I was getting drops of bitter/sweet so it could be a tooltip error, at least for that one in particular.

It’s a tonic that drops a higher chance of that weapon but not always that weapon. I have and use the scavengers fate tonic all the time. It drops random shit and sometimes scavengers fate. But definitely not “specifically” bitter sweet. And again to preface this. That’s the ONLY tonic I use and I definitely still get a bunch of scavengers fate shotguns.

Classic Destiny elitist toxicity, aka the REAL reason player pops are at their worst daily averages ever. Anyway, it's 5 greens to unlock a blue. 5 more to unlock another blue. If you don't get a blue, you either miscounted or you've unlocked all blues. Repeat this process with blues to unlock purples, only this time they take 4 to unlock. Feed a blue til you unlock no more purple, then move to next blue. I find it's easiest to keep track of by unlocking a tonic, then only coming back when I know I have enough to make 4-5 at once, whatever I need.

I still think till this day it should be 100% chance for what you attuned for, but for the most part, people aren’t questioning the consistency of that system like they are with this one.

I was running Iron Banner on Friday and popped a tonic for Chroma Rush. At the end of 74 mins, I had 3 Sojourner's Tale, 1 Exuviae, and 1 Chroma Rush. I told my clan brother, "something must be wrong," and he replied... "New content new glitches for the us Gardians to discover." 😆 🤣 😂

I finally got my roll (chill clip/air trigger, which is the one you SHOULD be going for) today about half way into my 3rd reset. But it felt like I was very rarely getting any chill clip rolls at all. Meanwhile, I probably got 10 deconstruct/one for all rolls. There is clearly still some perk weighting going on.
