After 3 years of taking my deer to local butchers so I can pay just as much as store bought meat to have someone else do it for me, we are going to process this years harvest ourselves. This is exactly the video I needed. Practical, with loads of helpful advice. Thank you.

Mr. Healy, first off I want to say congratulations on your beautiful deer! I have always said, a trophy is in the eye of the beholder! That buck is an awesome deer, especially in our state, so congratulations! Secondly, I want to thank you for being a light in the darkness, and using your hunting skills and experiences to witness in the mission field. Spreading the love of Jesus for everyone that sees your videos! I have been following your videos for awhile now, and look forward to seeing your videos any time one gets posted! I really appreciate the time you spend, making everything just right! The quality of your videos and your passion for Jesus and the outdoors really shine! So again, thank you! I am a corrections officer at a jail in the Roanoke area, so I don't get the time to hunt lime I want to, especially with a 10 year old heavily involved in sports, but I also want to thank you for just being a hunter! It doesn't have to be a wall hangers, every time you go! You enjoy every harvest as if it was your first or last, and I think it's great! Keep up the good work brother! I look forward to seeing many more videos as the years go on! Congrats again on an awesome season you're having, and good luck to the rest of your season! Thanks again for your witness and your passion!

Would you measure the brass about an 1/16- 1/8 inch above the bottom of the brass before it rebates, both before and after? Would enjoy seeing what type of deformation in 45 Super brass you're getting firing in a stock chamber. I have modified a Glock 21 for 45 Super, just waiting on my new brass order from Midway to get into load development. I haven't done so with a 1911 yet so curious. I sure would not want a case separation in the 1911 with a 45 Super round, even a standard 45 ACP round is very unpleasant....been loading for over 35 years, a bit chicken to tempt fate so would likely buy an upgraded supported barrel if I do convert a 1911. Nice video!
@Leehealy-wheninthewoods18 күн бұрын
So…I didn’t notice any deformation on the cases. But I do believe the 45 super cases were slightly thicker at the base where they weren’t supported. Underwood uses those cases I believe. Don’t quote me on that tho.
@brianegeberg849717 күн бұрын
@ it might not be visible to the naked eye which is why I use a micrometer. 45 Super is definitely thicker there than a standard case. If the barrel is stock and not fully supported I would be cautious if you try anything hotter. My buddy has a scar on his forehead from the last time, about 25 years ago when we were loading hot for a 1911 45 long slide…..
@Leehealy-wheninthewoods17 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the word of caution! Definitely will not be trying anything other than factory super.
