I'm glad you found the video helpful. You need to declare taxes once every year, whether you have sold your stocks or not. This is the policy in Sweden.

Hello! My fiscal residency is in Sweden, but I mostly trade US securities. What's most cost-effective, to have a SEK or USD base currency? When it comes to declaring my gains, would it be easier in SEK? Thank you!

Hi friend, having your InteractiveBrokers account set on USD makes it easier and cost-effective when investing. For declaring, choosing SEK would be simpler since you need to declare your trades in SEK. This is one of those moments where each side has a downside, so go with the one you feel most comfortable with, as it’s the same thing either way.

@@ShowbiziShqiptar11 Thank you, Mason. I started trading crypto three years ago. In my first year, I completed 1500 transactions and used Coinly to declare taxes. I was wondering if there is a similar platform providing that kind of service for international brokers like Interactive Brokers. That would make things easier... All the best, Jose.

Yes, there are platforms similar to Coinly that can help with tax reporting for international brokers like Interactive Brokers. Some popular ones are: 1. CoinTracker 2. ZenLedger 3. TokenTax 4. CryptoTrader.Tax I don’t use any of these platforms myself since I do them myself but to my knowledge many people do and they are saying good stuff about them. :)

thank you for the video! Btw in Sweden, is capital gain tax ratio flat totally regardless of Earned income from the job? I am asking this because in Korea dividend out of stocks or ETFs more than $14,000 is taxed comprehensively with earned income. Its tax ratio increases upto 49.5% depending on how much you earn from your job.

Thx for watching :) In Sweden, capital gains tax and earned income tax are two separate things. Capital gains tax rates depend on the type of asset and your income level, while earned income tax rates are progressive. So, they're not flat and can vary based on your situation.
