Another great video was in Prague last year and visited a couple of the places you mentioned, as you say you can probably get cheaper beer but more than likely at the expense of quality, pilsner urquell unfiltered from the tap is way better than the regular not sure if you tried it at u Glibacu, but there are lots of better beers in Prague we visited a monastery at the top of the hill and the beer was incredible. Na zdravi🍻

Thanks for watching this and what sounds like some other videos. I will be back again soon so I will explore the two spots you've mentioned. I enjoy getting tips like those! I think you got the idea, this was the first level of exploration, and there is even more spots to explore in this charming little town. Cheers again 🍻

It says it all about our beer scene when basically your only viable option is Guinness in every bar don't get me wrong when it's good its' a nice pint, the rest just mass market macro barley water. Having been to Germany and Prague you really understand how low quality the beer is here. As someone passionate about quality beer ts very frustrating to not have options when going out to socialise. I know there are a few decent craft breweries but getting them in most establishments is not an option and their lagers are just no match for the Germans. Enjoy your quality content. 🍻
@Drunktopus14 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts on the local scene. I know the Guinness is the reason you go to Dublin, however as you mention, it can get a little same same after a while. That's why I found RIOT a little more refreshing in the grand scheme of things. Germans are doing something right for sure, from the Lagers, Pilsners, and even their Kolsch, there is something for everyone.
@freepadz624113 күн бұрын
@calidan_sw plenty of shite german beers, mate. Ever have Kieler?
@calidan_sw13 күн бұрын
@freepadz6241 Most of the crap beers are big company macro beers produced on a large scale, can't go wrong with the smaller family breweries usually value quality over quantity and profits, yes I've had a couple of kieler Weissbiers years ago nothing memorable from what I can recall, but I've probably tried well over 300 different German beers over the years so remembering them all is difficult. But from experience and I've drank many of the best beers from Belgium, Czech,Germany, USA, UK, Austria when it comes to traditional styles of lager then Germans especially around Franconia cannot be beat, they are the masters and have the heritage🍻
@Drunktopus12 күн бұрын
@calidan_sw You're in for a treat then when visiting Munich. The craft beers here are really a craft, and small batch. You can literally chat to the brewer at the bar and see where the beer is made, sometimes onsite like BrewsLi Always different styles, flavours and seasonals to try.

Cheers man, you are going to have a great time here in Munich. From the classic 'Big Six' to the Craft scene there is a bounty of flavours to enjoy. You can even take a short trip up to Bamberg (Check out the video) to enjoy some of the other more unique flavours that abound. Coming up soon will be a trip to Köln (Cologne) to savour some of their Kolsch beer. Prost!! 🍻

the difference between u and Anthony Bourdain is that he doesn’t seem to mind being served by people who don’t speak english so i’m not sure why that was such a deal breaker when you were there.. idk seems weird to include that bar in this review when it checks all the boxes
@DrunktopusАй бұрын
Thank you for watching firstly and thanks for dropping a comment. I never thought I'd see my name in the same sentence as Anthony's in my life. And a fun fact Wakamba used to be about a block away from where he lived and did many of his press interviews. Yes the bar fit the criteria for sure which it was on my list to begin with. However as you see, not that classic style I was looking for. If you have time read the reviews for the place and the history of many other things that have occured here. None of that I included to leave it open to interpretation. Cheers for watching and get ready for a second exploration of even more dives! 🥃

What??? I'm Czech and shocked! The proper beer should be: Glass full up to 5cm from top (minimum) and the rest fill with "foam" (or milk as you call it) !! Don't let them rob you! If you don't speak Czech, take that beer back and show them by pointing your finger where you want to be filled. Beers are overpriced anyway. Most on pubes don't used original glass which should be 1/5 liter. (they must have some licence for it).
@DrunktopusАй бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video. (Resisted using a pun there) Take a look at the Honest Guide channel, they have a much better explaination of the beer pours than I have here. I am used to the foam on top, similar in Munich to get a Schnit, which is half beer and half foam.
