Challenge accepted but not yet completed. 49 czk is a good price for the Old Town but nowhere near the cheapest one. So time for part 2 and a tour of some run-down bars on the outskirts of Prague to really find the cheapest one.

Love to hear it. I think I will be back for some more dive bars outside of town and I am up for the challenge. Any tips welcomed my friend!

Another great video was in Prague last year and visited a couple of the places you mentioned, as you say you can probably get cheaper beer but more than likely at the expense of quality, pilsner urquell unfiltered from the tap is way better than the regular not sure if you tried it at u Glibacu, but there are lots of better beers in Prague we visited a monastery at the top of the hill and the beer was incredible. Na zdravi🍻

Thanks for watching this and what sounds like some other videos. I will be back again soon so I will explore the two spots you've mentioned. I enjoy getting tips like those! I think you got the idea, this was the first level of exploration, and there is even more spots to explore in this charming little town. Cheers again 🍻

I've seen beer in the supermarket for 7 czk. That's about 0.28 euro.

Dejvicka Nadrazka is about the closest you get to being close to the city center and cheap - 1.50€. What you need to look for is student pubs, that's where it's cheap.

Great video! It's really sad how beer prices have gone up in Prague and in the Czech Republic in general.

I totally agree, thats why this made this little project a bit of fun. I will check back again this year to see if I can still grab one of those 49 Crown beers. Cheers and thanks again for watching.

Argus in a can is not really the best beer, but despite the constant dramatic increase in prices during the last two years, you can still get (in offer) good Czech beers in bottles for 0,4 € (9-10 Czk) /0,5 l in supermarkets. Even if you have to buy these beers in extra supermarket offers, these offers in individual stores constantly overlap each other, so they practically exist all the time.
@Drunktopus9 ай бұрын
Good intel mate. Thanks for taking the time. Yes the Argus was a part of the gag. Not all things that are cheap are good. I hear you on the deals, I'm usually a tourist so end up paying more when I visit anyhow. Cheers! 🍻

A poor choice of pubs if you’re looking for cheap beer. Jarda Meyer and the shot-out eye are the only places locals would go, though the former is a bit hipster for those over a certain age. Ironically, some twenty paces away from Jarda Meyer is a real pub- Jamajka- which you missed. There are several dive pubs at Andel nearby which would have fitted the bill too. Also close is the best Pilsner in town at a decent price (and open 24/7) at Nudle.

Great tips. Thanks mate. I will add them to the list next time I pop over. I guess I only scratched the surface here. More local knowledge is needed which this really helps with. Cheers and I buy you a beer at the next place.

You might be onto something there mate. Believe me, I didn't think it would be possible to find bad beer there, however as just 69c I was not expecting much. I do like the sound of the challenge though. 🍻

Or you can go to some nonstop sport bar like other alcoholics, you will get your Braník for 1.5 eur there. 😀 I would say that covid destroyed most of those typical "pajzl" pubs where people just drink cheap beer and then go vomit, I don't miss these places and as a Czech, I always hated this part of Czech culture.
@Drunktopus5 ай бұрын
Thanks for this info, I honestly had no idea about this part of the culture. I was looking for quality over quantity and at a great price. All the places I tried to visit were a bit more in a traditional direction rather than a sports bar as this is a vibe killer if you ask me. Cheers for watching! 🍻

What??? I'm Czech and shocked! The proper beer should be: Glass full up to 5cm from top (minimum) and the rest fill with "foam" (or milk as you call it) !! Don't let them rob you! If you don't speak Czech, take that beer back and show them by pointing your finger where you want to be filled. Beers are overpriced anyway. Most on pubes don't used original glass which should be 1/5 liter. (they must have some licence for it).
@DrunktopusАй бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video. (Resisted using a pun there) Take a look at the Honest Guide channel, they have a much better explaination of the beer pours than I have here. I am used to the foam on top, similar in Munich to get a Schnit, which is half beer and half foam.

Thanks for watching and nice pick up. In the Europen world, a nice cap to the beer is manditory and adds to the flavour of the drink believe it or not. You dont get shorted on drink, but maximised on taste.

Always love when people from US or UK think they know stuff and comment on beer foam in Czech Republic or Germany. It is supposed to be like this for many reasons. Please drink your Budweiser or whatever and dont comment on stuff you dont understand. There are reasons why beer from these countries are famous worldwide, and yours are not. Educate yourself.
