Could you tell me a bit of the setup requirements to set a strat up in drop b tuning.
@narvaezcm12 күн бұрын
I changed the strings to 10-54 and fix the bridge intonation and action. I have to get a thicker set of strings like 11-56 tho. Nothing extra (but I'm not an expert to be honest).

Saw the grindcore/powerviolence band Despise You once, and the guitarist used a single coil strat tuned to standard B and Marshall jcm2000. Was such a crushing sound I couldn’t believe it was a single coil guitar.
@narvaezcm21 күн бұрын
yeah it kicks harder, now with all the gear we have available you can have a really heavy tone that almost feel clean but crushing! 🤘

if you have a 25.5" neck you need thicker strings, with the 27" you can use like 60 on the 6th string.

Sounds amazing!! Is that the original neck? 9.5? Isn’t a little uncomfortable when down tuning, or action too high?

Drop E is ridiculous lol. Also, why do I suddenly have the urge to hear what Punk Pock and Punk Pop songs would sound like, an exact octave lower ? OOH Smashing Pumpkins and Deftones too! I accidentally found out earlier that you can play "The Only Exception" right along with the album, an octave down if your guitar is tuned to B. Staind had some really cool voicings when they combined an acoustic in E flat and a Baritone guitar together.
@theantihumanproject1581Ай бұрын
Some people saY that drop e might be a bit low for a 7 string even if its multiscale and iam looking for a guitar that can handle drop f, drop e with a clean tone do you think this would be a good choise?
