I hate when the game freezes for few seconds every time it loads a new song on modern pcs.

I was wery suprised when aoe started to play this nicely out of my retro+roland PC. I didnt set up anything. It just plays. Also the sound card is SB64 Gold and i think it plays better samples on its own when the roland is powered off.I must retest it.

I still think Wally is a hit.

I had the AWE64 I think, and it was not bad but the Roland just sounds amazing here

So far, only my Xiaomi phone can perfectly restore midi music on win98.

Roland was top quality, I had Sound Blaster AWE32 and wish i had a Roland growing up. But i am also glad that Warcraft Audio CD's played during game instead of the midi as it had better quality, I still have a love for the Gravis, Adlib, OPL3 midi fonts

Wavetable is great and all but FM still has a niche of its own. So many wavetables are lacking that FM synth potential. FM rules indeed.

Yesssssssss!!! THERE IT IS! "Medieval Melody"! 12:37 I haven't heard this song in 27 years. This was the soundtrack to the beginning of my addiction to vidya games, playing the AoE demo on my dad's beat-up thinkpad work laptop whenever I could. Damn, I thought I would never find this soundtrack again. All i've seen for years are a bunch of AoE soundtracks I've never heard before. These original midi songs are so much more memorable than all the other ones around.

I was way too young to appreciate this game on the Amiga, but my brother loved it and I could certainly enjoy the music. I didn't know the music was mostly classical pieces back then, but it imprinted on me.
